Going to be a big nothing here in the N.O. area with 2 days of below freezing weather predicted for Sunday and Monday and then gradually going back up in temperature over the following days.
Now, last year was HUGE for us with the most snow I can recall in my lifetime----and that's a 73 yr. span. Snow not only accumulated but actually got pretty deep and stayed around for several days before the last traces finally melted away.
Give me the cold any day and you can keep our oppressive summer heat. The older I get, the more I hate our summers.

who knows? right now we're in the ice belt, but it could sway!!

Latest for ATL is it's going to possibly be the biggest ice event in ATL history, particularly the eastern and northern burbs. Which is where I live. This is going to suck. If it happens, and all the local mets are going on record predicting it, power could be out for a week.

Kansas City calling for 6-12 “ of snow. In other words, they don’t know. Grocery stores are packed. A little to crazy. It is bitterly cold here now, with colder air coming. All stay safe out there.

I know you’re being sarcastic but I will absolutely accept any of this board’s genuine prayers. I am so anxious rn.
We’ve dealt with plenty of snow since I’ve lived up here but never a freezing rain and ice situation.

Same here. There was an ice storm years ago and neighbors said it sucked because of power outages. Do you have reliable alternate heat and means to cook?

Snow? No issues.
Sleet will suck.
Freezing rain will be a shite show.
Most of us are getting the bottom 2.

Ain’t much gonna happen in BR.
I do love the day off though.
Not sure why people have so much anxiety about this. It’s a free day off. Enjoy it

I have gas so I can definitely cook regardless. I’m starting two batches of chili and two batches of gumbo tomorrow, and everything else will be easy to heat meals and snacks. And we have a gas fireplace. You?

I've seen everything from 8-20" expected for Lexington. I know yall in Louisiana think Kentucky is the Great White North, but we only get a couple of snowfalls a winter. Usually it's just cold and dreary, between 20-40° out most of the time. In Lexington 1-3" is really all we ever see, do get our fair amount of ice storms.
So 8-20" is a Snowpocalypse for us. We are definitely not equipped to handle that much at once.
