You know you can contribute $19,500 per year, yes?
You know how I know you're single.

I’m 44.
No 401k. Have $239.43 in my savings account. Once I get it to $300, I’m quitting.

How many people do you think contribute 20k or can even afford to?
Even if you don't make that much when starting your career (I didn't) you should force yourself to contribute some. At a minimum enough to recognize the max company match.
A dollar contributed when you're 22 is going to be worth many times what a dollar contributed when you're 40 is worth.
And before I get hit with the "can't afford to contribute", I'll just ask how much is spent on an iphone, expensive cable bill, unnecessary food/drink, etc. People can afford to contribute something, they just don't want to...to their own detriment.

Use this chart
Kinda think that chart is bullshite.
Let's say you have a 30 year old who has been working/saving since 25
Year 1: 40,000
Year 2: 40,000
Year 3: 45,000
Year 4: 60,000
Year 5: new job paying 100,000
He should have saved 120,000 by this point, according to the chart. Which is about 42% of his earnings. I highly doubt the average young person is saving 42% of their income, especially in those first years when most people are paying back student loans.
Also, mad jelly of everyone with 401ks in here.

Democrats coming after peoples retirement that they have saved for decades is how you start the next armed revolution
Now when the majority of voters don't have a retirement saved up to come after.
We're already there by the way.
