How do you even begin to escape something like that? The entire structure is an inferno. I didn't see how quickly this thing took off but if it started at the bottom then the residents didn't have anywhere to go. Absolutely Hell on Earth.

My sister is in London on her honeymoon right now. I've been in a panic for hours because I haven't been able to reach her...ordinarily I wouldn't be all that worried, but they are staying in a flat instead of a hotel, and since I don't know exactly where they are staying, radio silence freaked me out.
I JUSt heard from her and I am crying from sheer relief. My heart goes out to those families who aren't so lucky.

come on man, why would your sister stay in a Muslim ghetto apartment in London? smh

I'm not familiar with London, and to my knowledge, though she has done some research, neither is she. You seem to be, though, since you're obviously convinced that it's both ghetto and full of Muslims. It very well could be, but I doubt that you know that for certain.
I reserve the right to be worried if someone I love is potentially in the middle of something catastrophic. I also reserve the right to tell you to suck it.
P.S. I'm not a man, man.

Arson
Aren't towers suppose to have automatic sprinkler systems and other fire suppression systems to prevent this kind of thing?
Sad story all the way around. Prayers sent

Like I said in the PT board thread. I would like to change my bet from terrorism to shitty (negligent) landlord not keeping the building up to code.

How does an entire building catch on fire like that?

Terrorism by way of arson. Period.

Yes the way that thing is burning has to be arson

First thing that came to my mind. Maybe some kind of retaliatory thing in response to the recent attacks.
However, then I learned that this is public housing and is probably not the most well constructed building. So I wouldn't be shocked if it was an accident.

No sprinkler system
No fire alarm

It was probably due to negligence and mismanagement by the building owners .
Here is a blog LINK with years and years of posts about prior fires and issues with this building .Crazy that nothing was done about this .

I don't know that building or specific area, but notting hill and all that other area very near by are all middle to upper middle class areas so does anyone know if that specific building was a low end apartments? There's a difference between low end like for students and young adults and low end like for immigrants.
