I can vouch for them. Good organization. Check local or state SBC affiliations as they might be organizing an effort to head down there and always looks for people to help.

I am in Rosenberg, able bodied former military. If anyone can hook me up with a boat I can be a deckhand. I just don't have transport to get anywhere.

Hit me up.

I think your best bet for being a deckhand is reaching out to the Cajun Navy through one of the resources I posted in the OP.

Texas Navy on FB should be added. Same effect as Cajun Navy. Lots of other pages on FB for rescue efforts too

Feel so sorry for all the people in Houston about to get taken advantage of by fraud contractors.
It will dwarf what happened in LA last year.

I'm not sure the animal rescue pages are a good idea. A number of the people who died in BR last year were rescuers. Going out to rescue dogs is a risk to human life. I love dogs and can't stand the idea of them dying in the flooding, but human life needs to come first

I feel sure Brother Wolf will come in once they are able & handle animal rescues.
They did an amazing job after the August floods here.

Looks like emergency officials are refusing to allow private citizens to drop their boats to help in rescue efforts.

Cajun navy dispatch says stand down if you have not departed Louisiana. Only law enforcement, medical personnel, and fire are allowed.

They're turning away help? That's a bold move.

Flanders, ship them some pancakes.

Added this to OP...do we have a written confirmation of this? I'd like to quote that in OP instead if possible.

Cajun navy dispatch is reporting it in the zello app. Haven't found anything on hard copy.

We're waiting for word in LC. About 15 boats were here. Somebody named John who's with the Cajun Navy said they are turning everyone around at the Texas line. And they are about to open the flood gates so anybody who's in Texas may be trapped there for a couple days.

My main concern is that they might have just turned one or two people with boats away in one location but will accept people entering the state in other areas. I'd hate to broadcast to everyone to stand down if it's just being shut down in certain areas. I'd love to see something in writing from state officials.

SIAP, but JJ Watt is doing a crowd funding for flood relief in Houston. JJ is a stand up guy and he set it up himself, so I have no doubt that the money will legitimately go toward the relief efforts.
