Well, the vinyl shops are for profit. If you've absolutely got to have Kiss Alive then you need to go to a vinyl store. If you just want some records, go to antique stores or even cheaper is Goodwill.

My daughter has also found a lot of "greatest hits" or multiple collaboration records that seem to be the most bang for the buck.

My grandmother gave me her 1952 that still operates. It is a flip top, about 3.5 feet tall. I love it! I used to listen to records at her house when I was a kid, so it is really cool that she handed it down to me. I have no idea the value, but it is a really neat piece for my living room.

ETA - First album I put on was Licensed to Ill

Looking in grandparents attic this weekend, he might have an old one I'll drag down for now.

I think you may be right about the one you own. Relatively cheap and has solid feedback. Thanks for the help.
