Use the worst persons credit to fool the dealer into thinking they will make the most in the finance. The worse your credit, the higher the interest you pay and the more the dealer profits. You get a better deal and then pay cash.

So lie and tell them random person is your spouse and have that persons credit pulled? That’s commitment to the cause lol

Doesn't buying local despite better deals elsewhere encourage bad behavior?

Yep. Last car I bought, I worked with a local dealer and compared their deal with what I could get in Houston. Local dealer ended up beating the Houston deal via same price and higher trade. Still got 0% on top of the deal too.

My salesmen said they decided a couple years ago they would never lose a sale to Texas again and they've been doing well ever since.

I've never financed a car through the dealership. My credit union has always given me the best rates. Maybe I could get a dealership to best the credit union's rates, but I prefer to deal with the dealership as little as possible.

Me too.

It all very much depends on what you like spending money on.

I do not particularly enjoy driving. It just gets me where I need to go.
I do not care about the majority of pricey bells and whistles.
I do not need the newest model of vehicle.
I do not care about top end speed or acceleration.
I do not have any interest in car design.

Thus, for me, cars can be a tremendous waste of money.

My current vehicle is certified used. I've had it for 7 years. It still runs beautifully, and thanks to how well-built cars are these days I can easily drive this thing for another 5-10 years.

If you purchase cars in this manner, you can sock away far more money for things that matter - like early retirement .

I've already told some joker from Lafayette to quit calling me.

Robinson's brothers never gives up. They called me every month for a year straight. Even after I told them I bought a truck from another dealership

That bad part is I will never drive it. But wife will not deal with them.

A couple of years ago. I got my truck from Mobile. I showed up and basically grabbed the keys and left. Guy asked if I wanted to test drive it. Nope. I just drove 2 1/2 hours. Get me the hell outta here

I wanted to buy a car cash.

One dealer never called me back.

I have bought 4 or 5 vehicles from this place in the last 20 years.

Trying another dealer now. They actually called me back.

America’s car sales professionals are literally putting their lives on the line every day to ensure that every American has reliable transportation and all you can think about is hurting them

Bought Tundra recently. Think they had $51k on sticker. Got 0% and $4500 off plus trade value.

It can be done. You just have to push and be willing to walk away.

So if a new Tahoe has a price of $58,170 on the chevy internet site, how much would be a good price to pay for it?

Dealership please...

I saw a 2019 F-150 KR on Texas Direct for $8K less than literally the exact same vehicle at a Metarie dealer

It was Lamarque. I'd be interested in seeing if that's still the policy This was 4 years ago (a lifetime in vehicle purchases for me)
