When did you play at Woodlawn?
He was mine too 89-92(fall seasons). I didn't go to Buchanan for 3rd but his wife was really nice and all the kids knew that.
And he was a total DICK to me all 4 years
He was not only our HC but my position coach at DE.
When I made academic all-state we had a dinner at LSU. He was pissed off about having to go play dress up and eat supper with me. But Mrs Moock was there and sweet as usual.

I see Brandie still. Bumped into her at Zippys a few years back after not seeing her for many years.
She was drinking with a mutual friend of ours I'm quite certain. Big Black dude?

Good ole Mr. Marston...one of my favorite teachers.
He was a trip. He was such an a-hole in a sarcastic funny way.
His American History Class in 7th grade is where I met Shelby Holmes(RIP).

Wow, this thread is a trip down memory lane! Did K-3 at JT. Very fond memories of Mr. Rumfellow. I do remember the paddle he kept in his office, too. Had Mrs. Jones for 3rd grade. Her favorite punishment was to kiss you. We hated it because she had a mustache. She could also spin blind and peg you between the eyes with chalk or her eraser.
And Brandy Malone. Who didn't have a thing for her? I remember beating her at multiplication tables and she clawed my back up pretty good.
Ended up going the Buchannon Academy to McKinley Middle route as well. Good Times.

You were in our grade? In 5th Grade Edmonson's class when we'd start math, she'd go to some other classroom since we didn't technically have an entire gifted program there. You were with her huh? fricking nerds.
I knocked her arse off that soccer goal post one day at recess..
She came swim at my apartment last Summer when me and the gf had a little 'break'.
Anyhoots.
Remember that PE teacher Chambers(?). MOtherfricker pinched me so hard one time he left a bruise one me.
My mama and daddy came to school and said "I know my sons a jack arse. Just dont pinch him so hard next time." and everyone called it a day.
Imagine that shite now.

I'm a fricking retard for taking this long to figure that one out. The funny thing is, I was already thinking of your sister but for some reason I thought you were older than her, not two years younger.

This thread is awesome
My little brother went to JT in the late 80s. I went to Mayfair. Our bus would pick us up, then the JT kids. Seemed like it would take forever to get home.

I remember sharing bus rides b/c 1st-3rd was at JT and 4th and 5th was Mayfair.
But that bus from Village St George to Buchanan for us nerds was brutal. The bus went through every damned neighborhood between Perkins and Highland make its way north to Roosevelt street.

Yep. That rings a bell for sure.

That’s absolutely awful! A couple kids in my neighborhood went to Buchanan and literally got home an hour after me. And if I recall, they got dropped off at the front of the neighborhood (basically right on Perkins Rd) so some of them had a long march home after that.

yea from 4th-8th grade I got home an hour after the Mayfair and Kenilworth kids.
Yep. My bus stop was right there at the Marty Js(was a Showbiz video back then). 1.5 miles from my house.

92-95 we sucked except when we had christophe, thad and crump etc.
So a quick run down, potentially all my elem school, middle school and hS will all have been torn down and built new since I left. Am I old or something??

Who the frick are you?
They were all a year behind me. Crump was an ornery arse player on the field.
I grew up playing at Perkins Park with Thad and Christophe.
I was that tall bald headed studly DE who graduated in 93. Christophe was all-parish his jr year with me(my sr year).

Yeah, I remember Coach Chambers. lol
I remember him having us play "Tree" in PE at Buchanan. Everyone lined up to one side of the gym, while five or six others were placed at random spots on the court and you had to run across without getting tagged by the "tree;" They could sway around to get you but they couldn't move their feet. If you were tagged, you became a tree.
I also remember bowling in the gym.
