I had to put down a cat a few months ago and it was a lot harder than i thought. Making the decision was hard. After some time i realized it was the fastest most painless way for her to go and it was the right choice. Any further time living would have led to more suffering. It gets easier. I’m sorry you are going through this!

I feel your pain. I’ve been there several times and the next time that you come home and you see that she’s not in that window .

Man, that is tough. These threads really do make me a little emotional. Its sad to say, but I get more emotional over a dog than people.
The last dog I put down was the first dog I had as mine. Not a family dog, but my first dog as an adult. When he had to be put down I cried like a baby. I am not exaggerating at all. I was loud crying.
The thought of having to put down the two I have right now makes me upset. One is 6 the other is 5 so hopefully I will not have to worry about it for 6 or so years.. But I am sorry to hear this.

sorry man. that process of putting a beloved family pet down is not one I would wish on my worst enemy. it’s gut wrenching.

Seeing that pane of glass empty is going to be a dagger. When getting home from the vet today I realized the first thing I do as I am pulling in is look there for her.

So very sorry for your loss.
My sister had to put her pup down on Wednesday. He was 15 as well. They are heartbroken but his health and quality of life had deteriorated so much in the last year...it was the right thing to do.
