Don’t use a lawn guy that knows how to email and you won’t have this problem.

If he is putting the burden of rising fuel and service costs on his customers, then its a bad look to buy a new $80,000 vehicle.

Maybe if fuel costs weren't raising at exponential rates Any service that runs on fuel and is not increasing rates right now is run buy idiots.

The increase of rates isn't the issue here.

Well, you seem like an arse.

Our lawn guys do a great job and have charged reasonable prices. I wouldn’t be upset if they have to raise cost due to the cost of everything else going up. If he doesn’t, we’ll likely tip him more to help with that.

It absolutely is. His equipment purchases are irrelevant to his very real increase in fuel costs.

Seems fair to me. Why must he absorb the full price of fuel increases?

Bummer

I have always used that extra 45min-1hr a week as a mind clearer and an extra workout.

I also made a son 11 years ago and am in the process of handing over the reins to him. He cuts, I weedeat and drink while watching him. Teamwork bruh!

Good for him I guess, but that seems like a toy more than a tool. Our lawn service seems to use a few 15+ year old, very well worn white work trucks (Chevys and Fords) and larger enclosed white trailers with their logo and number. They are all clean looking and well maintained, but they would never ever be mistaken for a Platinum or Denali vehicle.

Their trucks aren't fancy, but they some sick equipment though. Newer Dixie Choppers and SCAG products.

Got an e-mail from my lawn guy this morning informing me of a 15% increase in his monthly bill due to the rising costs of fuel and service costs. Bummer.

He also just bought a brand new F-350 Platinum and paint matched trailer.

But it’s still worth every penny!

If the costs have gone up, I recommend getting an estimate from a competitor. But I imagine fuel costs and parts/maintenance for his lawn equipment is driving those prices up for him and his competitors.

I generally don't really care what people drive, wear, etc. and likely won't notice anyways. If they do a good job at a competitive rate, they get the business.
