McDonald’s shake machine, broken since 1960.

Funny story... McDonald's is what it is today because Ray Kroc was a traveling milkshake machine salesman and he went to the original McDonald's in California to pitch them on a new-improved machine. The rest is history.

And if that movie was accurate, they ended up using powdered milkshakes for a long time.

The earliest known photo. Taken in the 1820s at a countryside estate in France.

$29 to have a baby in 1943. Can't even get a pain pill in the hospital for that
$5 for anesthesia! What a rip off!

Gonna bring this up next time I have surgery.

$14.5k just for the hospital fees for a normal, non epidural delivery, only in hospital for 36 hours, as of one month ago. That doesnt include doc fees and others
That's only a 49,900% increase, why you complaining?

My granny has the receipt for my dads birth, he was born in 1952. Total cost was $85 and my paw-paw paid the bill in cash. I'll post pics if I can find it.

The earliest known photo

Property of The University of Texas at Austin, displayed at the Harry Ransom Center along with a Gutenberg bible, Scarlett O'Hara's green dress made from curtains in Gone With the Wind, Edgar Allan Poe's writing desk, and much much more.

When I was a student I requested to see a set of William Shakespeare original manuscripts and Albert Einstein's notes on his theory of relativity. Brought out in plastic sleeves and I had to wear special gloves.

Back in the early 70s, the late, wayward son of Texas football coach Darrell Royal stole Einstein's notes. They were returned and I think it was all glossed over.

I can't believe they let you handle them. Crazy, and cool.
