Yeah, I would advise anyone having surgery to tell them you’re not leaving the hospital without the drugs in hand.

LINK this is a decent explanation of what's going on. The issue is that the DEA quotas are only set once per year and whoopty doo if the country runs out early. Supposedly the DEA doesn't use the quotas to intervene in with prescribing behaviors but that seems difficult to believe given all the shortages and pressure/scrutiny doctors are under to not prescribe certain controlled substances. Their methodologies for determining quota amounts may be flawed too.

Percocet 7.5 on back order so I got 5s just had my second rotator cuff surgery this year in before junkie
