The only thing I really liked in LA were the La Brea tar pits. And there was a huge outdoor food market that I really enjoyed. This was about 15 years ago, so that might be a pretty dangerous place now, idk.

The best part of LA is Manhattan Beach though, IMO.
Can confirm the South Bay is the best area of the L.A. metro.
For 3 years, I lived on 28th St in Hermosa, next to Manhatten. 1-mile walk to the Hermosa Pier or Manhattan Pier either way. It's a beautiful area with a lot to do. Some days and nights there didn't feel like a real place it was so nice. I miss it.

Corona Del Mar is another beautiful area and Costa Mesa too

Santa Monica and Venice are next to each other and definitely worth seeing.
Not so much anymore. The homeless have taken over there unless that's changed in the past year. Venice is overrated but checking it off the list just to see it is understandable.
Go check out Titanic Boutique for some cool stuff.

My wife wants to move back to Cali one day. I told her only if it was the Huntington Beach area. Not going back to L.A. County. At least the OC is a little based.

Skip L.A. its a total shitehole even with Gavs orders to oust all the unhoused
Go to Newport, Laguna, Dana Point. Especially Newport which is the greatest
They destroyed Santa Monica
The Promenade is a mess is disgusting and sad

Other than seeing the sign on the hill, it’s not really something i have ever cared to see.
Doesn’t change much for me in life seeing it or not seeing it

Venice is pretty nasty with the homeless and druggies taking over. Santa Monica is still pretty nice. Was just there a few months ago.

California is awesome. Don't let the simpletons here who have never been further than Gulf Shores tell you otherwise.
California is like the super hot girl that’s as dumb as a box of rocks.

California is, most likely, the most beautiful state in the Union, but it's politicians, unabated illegal immigration, lax law enforcement, and draconian business regulations are literally killing the state. I can remember in the near past when the Golden State was solid red. What happened?

Malibu, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach are all better places to visit in L.A. but if you have never been to Beverly Hills it is definitely worth a visit.

Not really. It is worth a drive through, I guess. But all you will see is some famous street signs, some beautiful houses and some iconic movie places.
If you are going to be in that area drive the Pacific Coast Highway. That is a better use of your time.

I’ve never understood the obsession that people from middle-America and the South have with California.

Well, California is a beautiful state with weather that makes Seattle's feel like shite. For about eight years I had daughters living in West Seattle and L.A. I visited them both, but I sure liked L.A. better.

I personally prefer Malibu more, but you should definitely check out Beverly Hills. If you're willing to splurge on a nice meal, I recommend CUT in the Beverly Wilshire or Matsuhisa. Take a stroll down Rodeo Dr. or drive through the hills in Bel Air near the UCLA area in Holmby Hills/Westwood very close by. Maybe check out the Getty in Brentwood as well if you have time.

the Huntington Beach area
I haven’t been back to HB in over 10 years, but does everyone still look like Kottonmouth Kings in their 50’s?
I thought the boardwalk area was the coolest place on earth in the early 00’s. By the early 10’s it felt like Baker.
