I like to watch this dude Caleb Hammer on the tube. Some people have zero financial literacy.

You’re not alone.
Am saving for college.
Don’t travel except to see family in USA.
I am not looking to buy my kid a car.
Don’t even go to local music shows due to cost.
I am trying to save money for when the Rugby World Cup comes to USA

I'm concerned when it all comes apart, they will find a way to drag me down with them. And tbh they already are with the US debt and deficit.

When it all comes falling apart, it'll be the guy who invested in lead that's the big winner.

Here’s an example. Just fixed a house heater. Paid $180 for the control board and installed. How much would an HVAC guy have charged me for parts and labor?

Watched 5 or 6 YouTube videos on how gas fired heaters work. They all work the same.

Ok. I can do things like change a capacitor on my AC on my house, or do a brake job, but the car needs a transmission really. That isn't something i will attempt in the driveway. Most people would not. not to mention the transmission is about two grand more than what the car is worth. At some point it is time to cut ties with an old vehicle.

This too. I only have expenses for one person.

So sometimes I can't find enough Chinese crap to spend my money on.

I agree with you on repairing a transmission. If it’s not one of the solenoids, I’ll let someone else rebuild it. That really needs expertise.

But you could put in a new transmission and continue to drive it. It can make sense even if the repair is more than what the car is worth. So let’s say the transmission costs 4K all in. A new car note would be what? Let’s say $500. Well if the old car lasts 8 months, well then you actually start to save money then. So, that’s a myth that if the repairs are more than the car is worth that you should get another car. Yes, sometimes it’s true but you should calculate a break even point to make a better decision.

Some? Try the vast majority. I blame parents. They don’t teach it to their kids. Thankfully my parents taught me. (Hi mom)

Which is why I start out with the basics when I give advice. Gotta crawl before you can walk.

Same. I keep hearing how it will catch up with people.
Haven’t met anyone that lives off credit and debt that it has caught up with.
Yeah they are not leaving their kids anything. But it’s not catching up to them.

Maybe you should learn a little bit about car repairs. It’s not hard. Just takes a little effort.

Hmm. Claim to be a crackpot attorney and options trader yet still fixing your car to save a few bucks. Seems to me your time would be better spent trading and ambulance chasing. Because I can guarantee your mentor Jeff Bezos isn't changing his own oil.

It’s a lot cheaper to ski…in Europe.
im considering this next trip. We go every other Christmas. Lift tickets were running $250+ a day per person in winter park and park city the previous two trips. 3 skiers a day gets pricey for a week. We’ve been blessed enough to travel all over the world but booking a trip in the dead of winter to a ski area in Europe overwhelms me though. Worried about transport from airport to mountain mostly. I usually rent a vehicle, but I’m a tad nervous about that there. I’m thinking about it for next Christmas though. Need to research.
