You judge a tree my the fruit it produces. Bad trees cannot produce good fruit, and vice versa.

I had to be reborn in Christ.

The irony that you are against ISIS and beheadings, but you were jailed for murder and condemn others religions...

You said something earlier that stuck with me. You said you were forgiven. If you don't mind me asking, by whom?

Good to see this thread has devolved into the same old religious dribble that you can expect on the OT.

I myself have a really hard time understanding how Jesus saves and how he did so by dying on a cross. I don't understand the connection other than being told "well because".

That's what I figured.

I had a follow-up but I'm thinking better of it. I'm happy you're in a better place.

It's a common explanation and one of the most frustrating things about religious discussion.

People believe what they believe. Whatever I guess.

Jesus was persecuted by the wise men of his day.

Best case scenario, same happens to his followers.

I have thick skin though, no hard feelings. I'll be home in a bit too, can type better.

There were abuses then, yes, but that wasn't what they were for. No one disputes that the Church has made mistakes.

Again, this is why I discussed philosophy in this thread. People like yourself seem to have trouble differentiating between the teachings and those who make up bureaucracy of the faiths.

It's important to know the history, philosophy, and theology if you want to either discredit or affirm a faith. The same can be said of many of the New Age Christians I see, especially those that claim to be non-denominational.

I'll be leaving shortly, so I look forward to catching your story tomorrow...Please include your explanation of why it is ok for you to murder and tell others their religion is wrong, but not ok for ISIS to do the same

I think I am the opposite to be honest. The teachings to me say to live a good life and be an overall good human being. After that its all fluff and organized mumbo jumbo to me

Not a question.

Just more of me taking issue with speaking in absolutes.

I never said what did was ok. I won't have a discussion if you continue to make things up.

I have a funny feeling that if you knew what I did, and why I did it, you wouldn't be so quick to judge me.
