18 wheelers are really not the big problem. I’d rather it be illegal for women and Asians to be in the left lane. They’re the problem.

What if there's only 2 lanes and there's a vehicle stopped on the right-hand shoulder? They shouldn't get over into the left lane in the scenario?

They should get halfway over, blocking both lanes for as little time as possible, then get TF back in the right lane.

since i dont drive one, they should be required to stay in the slow lanes and it should be illegal for them to switch lanes to pass anyone, ever.
but the guys who do drive them have every right to the road just like the rest of us even though its aggravating as frick when they are holding up traffic

Chicks going 60 mph in the passing lane doing their makeup in the mirror cause traffic 100% of the time

I agree, to an extent.
Currently in the trucking industry.
I have asked a few drivers “why do you guys stay in the left lane?”
Their response:
When driving through municipalities they stay in the left lane/middle due to drivers merging onto the interstate.
Driving through BR there is multiple on ramps with not much room to merge. If all 18 wheelers stayed in the right lane it would cause more of a problem.
When it comes to outside of the “city” they are just being dicks and trying to get to where they are going without having to take a 10-hour break when they are 15 miles from their terminal.

If it's a three lane or more and they're in the middle lane, I have no issue with this.
But if it's a two lane, they need to get the frick out of the left lane and let the merging traffic figure it out.

That’s a lie, it’s way more of an inconvenience when they are in the passing lane.

Fact.
False. Most accidents are caused by fricking morons that can't drive. There is a reason this state has insurance that is more than double the cost of many other states....and it's not because of truck wrecks. I would be money that most wrecks involving a big rig are not the fault of the trucker. I've witnessed many assholes in packed traffic cut in front of a semi that had plenty of a safe gap.....until the a-hole who thinks just because his car can fit it's okay to occupy that space. Every time I see that, they deserve every inch of that truck up their arse if a wreck happens if sudden braking occurs. Anyone who understands basic physics will not get in front of a semi if there is not a lot of room. Most of the drivers in this state are stupid as frick...and not just at driving....but you witness it more in driving. Every single drive you take, you can witness it... That is not the case every where in this country. To those of you who are retarded drivers, frick you.

There’s a very noticeable difference between the highways here and Europe. In France people actually used the left lane for its intended purpose. Here fricks just camp out there.

They do this for their own safety and everyone else on the road.
These are chemicals haulers that have 10+ years of experience I am speaking for.
With sue happy attorneys these days they have to play it safe.
Most are owner ops and their truck is their livelihood.
ONE wrong move or decision will cost them their career.
These guys run the roads 5-7 days a week for a living and know what they’re doing.
Now.. box van/container/ reefer drivers are another story.
Some of those guys on the road may have been driving a Nissan Altima for 8 years, 3 weeks later they are running 80,000lbs at 70 mph and have NO idea what they’re doing.

A lot of the company trucks have governers in them so they likely aren’t actively choosing to pass someone going a few MPH faster. Guys that own their own trucks are all about fuel conservation so they won’t take it off cruise control or speed up just to save someone behind a few extra minutes. It’s still annoying as frick though

Said nobody in the trucking industry. ??
ETA: are you familiar with the 14-hour rule.
16-hour rule.
34-hour reset.
Drive time. On duty time.
As of 2017 they have pushed for mandatory ELOGs (electronic logs) installed in their vehicle.
The day of paper logs are over (for the majority).
No longer can you falsify your drive time and hours.
DOT can plug into your truck and see exact mileage, speed violations, hours of service. Etc.

Worked as a driver manager for over a year and never saw anyone take a break due to driving over their hours when they are 15 miles from a terminal/stop. I’m sure it’s happened but cmon
