Went to high school with Lawrence Nixon. Edwards, Gary, and a few others I know them.
Maybe i am thinking of different people, but I feel like there's an age gap between the three you listed.

I just realized I know the current sheriff Ivy Woods. Haven't seen him in a long long time. IIRC he and his twin brother played football at McNeese.
Woods is a good dude who served his 20+ yrs as a State Trooper. He knows how to handle "situations.". I hope he can remain unscathed, given this cast of characters.

Well obviously. Edwards and Gary are a bit older, but I know them. Our families would interact when I was growing up.

There's so many damn Edwards in that town I couldn't tell if you meant another one or the actual one in the story.
Posted on 2/1/14 at 5:21 pm to Hopeful Doc
And a shite ton of Garys.
Posted on 2/1/14 at 5:25 pm to Uncle Stu
What year did you graduate Stu?
Posted on 2/1/14 at 5:30 pm to Hopeful Doc
Not nearly as many Garys..... There's a ton of them, most aren't right in the head
The only Edwards I knew was Ricky's family, and really it was only crazy Jerry

He was a foster child and, if memory serves, stopped his truck on the tracks and waited for the train.
ETA- real sad story.

Yeah, he was adopted or something, and yeah he laid down on train tracks or something to that effect. Smart smart kid though, just had a screw or two loose.

Definitely know some Guinns and Edwards.

I know many of both. Part of why I don't buy some huge inter-departmental conspiracy is that I refuse to believe Ricky Edwards would have covered it up. That's not to say there weren't still some individual cops doing some shady shite though

Camped out with my older brother and some of his friends back behind were the old high school was by the Bayou Nezpique boat launch and after it had gotten dark we saw a fire in the woods away from where we were and went to see. Their was a group of people wearing black robes. They had a dog nailed yo a tree and we're cutting it up and chanting some weird shite. We ran all the way back to my house on Florence st.

This story has been around since the 1970's at least. Version I heard happened outside of St. Francisville, exact same details.

Don't think there is a Bayou Nezpique boat launch in St. Francisville. My story happened in the summer of 1992.

WAIT UR RIGHT HOLY shite UR STORY IS LEGIT
funny how no one called the cops and it never made the papers given the south's innate tendency towards moronic Satanist hysteria though. totally on the level and convincing bro

Cops were called we were all brought back out to show them where it happened they even questioned us all separately to be sure it wasn't us that did it. The detective told my mom that they knew that there was a problem with these things going on but could never catch anyone in the act. If you don't belive me that's fine, zero fricks will be given.

Don't really care to argue with you either, but I heard the same story at least 30 years ago, complete with the black robes and dogs crucified to trees.
the obvious conclusion is that a Satanic cult operates in the hinterlands of south Louisiana and has avoided detection for decades. Arm yallselves, my brothers
