The most memorable teacher there was Mr. McGannon. I can still recall many stories from his class. I had never met someone so weird before or since.
Or more attrocious smelling breath.
Anyone remember all the cool classical stuff in Prof's second floor Latin/Greek classroom. I think he had a replica of a catapult and other ancient weapons.

I never had him, but I know of the infamous Family Feud tape he plays.
Apparently back in the 80s, he and his family were on Family Feud. The question was "Name an occupation where you get hurt"
In the most yatty voice he says "How bout a hockey playa?"

When I was in 8th grade they had made that Hanemann's class, and they moved prof up to the 4th floor. I remember a lot of the stuff was left on the walls when I took Algebra I there. Poor Prof wasn't long for Jesuit after the hammer came down on Boudreaux. That was pretty shocking. The rumor I heard was that Boudreaux had been covering for Prof for years.

And please expound on this. I knew Prof was forced out, but I never knew why.

Ahhhh yes.....Prof's class. That man was very eccentric to say the least, but his classes were pretty chill since he did nothing but tell random stories. I honestly don't think I learned a single ounce of Latin that year in his class.

I don't know anything more than what I just posted, and it was just a rumor really. I didn't have prof. I was a Latin and Spanish track. I opted out of Greek. One of my friends had prof for Greek and claimed that there wasn't a hell of a lot of teaching going on. He just kind of gave out grades. This might have just been for the lower level Greek classes because he found going over the basics to be uninteresting. Anyway after Boudreaux got removed from the priesthood, quite suddenly, because of the zero tolerance abuse policy, Prof went away soon after. It was just the rumor that I heard that Boudreaux had been sort of his advocate, and without Boudreaux there was no one with sway left to defend him. Of course the two could have had nothing to do with each other. This was pretty much gossip I heard as a teenager.

Wow, that's pretty interesting, and somewhat plausible.
Yeah, I was a sophomore when the whole Boudreaux thing went down. I have to figure he's dead now.

I don't think I'm going to the reunion though. I went to the 5 year one. I don't really feel like having forced conversations with people I never talked to in school, plus I live out of state so that makes it sort of tough.

Oh and I actually like Hanemann. I ran into him with a friend maybe a year ago at that coffee shop at the corner of Oak and Carrollton. Apparently he was let go from Jesuit too a few years ago. He was kind of strict, but he seemed like a decent guy to me. He was just put in the position to be the "welcome to Jesuit enforcer" that gave out a lot of PH's and detentions for minor infractions. Just his job.
