23 years of marriage in a what I thought was faithful, catholic marriage. 7 kids, 5 still at home, 4 are 9 and under.

Man this hurts more than anything I have ever felt. I can't believe this is where we are. Says she is afraid of me and I bully her. Never, ever raised a hand to her or even came close to doing so.

shite sucks.

Man that sucks and I am sorry to hear/read that. I have never been married so I don't have any advice other than the standard.
Step1: get a damn good lawyer
Step2: get a damn good bottle of whiskey
Step3: get a damn good priest/preacher, counselor, or friend that you can vent too.
Step4: hookers and blow. It is an OT cure all

Well said.

You guys with this Alpha/Beta b.s. are deluded. The only people who even think about that crap are those of you who are insecure in the first place.

sucks that she blindsided you with this thing that has been building up for a long time. Should have at least tried to work it out for the kids sake.

blaming the woman

She filed for divorce not him...she is choosing to ruin her kids lives forever...if there is no infidelity and no physical abuse going then she has no biblical grounds for divorce.

Been in counseling for 18 months. Every time the focus get too hot on her she decides to either change or has "scheduling" issues.

What a bitch. Most women just can't stand to be "in the wrong." It's got to be someone elses fault. Your "bullying" is a total scapegoat.
I'm a product of divorce and I came out alright. Just don't check my post history for evidence.

How do you know OP wasn't verbally and psychologically abusive? (Not insinuating you are OP)

Doesn't the constant woman bashing on here ever get old?

Divorce isn't a death sentence. They tried counseling (which most men who are "bullies" wouldn't even do). She filed those papers. OP needs to protect himself and his kids and move the frick on

That sucks man, will say a prayer for your family.

Like others have said; there is most likely infidelity involved. Focus on being a good dad, your life will get better and someone new and better will come along.

All women are like this. They love opportunistically, and they have no loyalty.

+1

Dated several girls like this, it's a complete nightmare. Thankfully when it's just a girlfriend you can kick her arse to the curb and peace out. OP's situation is a little more...complicated...

I'd take the advice of others here and PI / Lawyer up. Good luck!

Knighting for the person you're married to isn't a bad thing. You'll never see me knighting some random chick on the OT. There's a pretty big difference.

Then it's just a bullshite excuse posing as a legitimate reason to get divorced. The real question is - how do you not see this coming? Surely there were signs??

Use email for EVERYTHING, and ALWAYS take the high road in the email conversations. This gives you a record.

I still have 9 year old emails. I'll delete them when kids are adults.

Secondly. There's an outside chance she's just gone batshit and this is some Eat Pray Love bullshite where she's gonna leave you to go be woman hear her roar... Then she fricks someone else. Women are crazy.

One thing though. One thing someone mentioned is dead on! From this point forward, she is NOT the woman who married you. She is your mortal fricking enemy.

You're married to the OP's wife? I think I found his problem.

A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes.

But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging.

And who knows who's gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all frickin' night.
