I saw my buddy the other day when we went out to dinner. I went to shake his hand and noticed his elbow was bandaged and he couldn’t move it. I said what happened? Dude broke it playing pickle ball. I said PICKLE BALL?

1 on 1 pickleball is intense. I play that and tennis and get a pretty similar amount of cardio. 2 v 2 pickleball is much different and I rarely play that way but there's still the potential of short bursts/stretches to try to get to a ball where someone could get injured, especially if older.

The moral of this thread. Find an excercise program you like and start stretching. It is astounding how out of shape we can get over time. I know I gave you some shite in my earlier post but it was intended good naturily. Kudos for at least getting out there and moving. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Anna Leigh Waters. Washington Post just did a big story about her and how pickleball is exploding. Her lawyer mom paused her career to help manage her and play doubles with her. Mom is 43, so they have the youngest and oldest players in the league on a team. Article says doubles is the more prized event.

I watched Anna Leigh play last weekend in Rockwall, TX. She won the triple crown, singles, doubles and mixed. The facility had close to 40 courts.

you wouldn't believe the amount of injuries due to pickleball - average age of a participant is probably 65. I know a guy who blew out his Achilles on the first serve of his very first pickleball game. Surgery and months in a boot.
