It's called renal colic for those who don't know. It's up there with some of the worst pain a human can endure.

I had my stent taken out at the doctor's office without anesthesia. The nurse who prepped me was pretty, but the fun was over after I took my first piss after the procedure. Felt like I was pissing fire. And yes, the first piss after lithotripsy is horrifying.

Had one last year, pain was pretty bad but not terrible got me out of work. Had to drive to the clinic with that pain do that was fun. As soon as I got to the clinic the pain was pretty much gone. Doc gave me some meds and said just wait till it passes.

Few hours later I had to piss multiple times in just a few minutes until felt a small sharp pain at that point I said frick it grabbed a beer and just pissed the fricker out.

Oh also felt like I needed to shite all day without having to shite.

How big do they get if they aren’t sonically pulverized before passing through the urethra?

I've had at least 20 episodes with stones and the biggest I passed is sitting in an old pill bottle near me on my desk right now. It is almost 1/2 in. long and 1/4 in. wide and shaped like a grain of rice. That one had me on the floor for almost a week before it passed.

Last year I had 3 surgical procedures to remove kidney stones that were far too big to pass. It was discovered by an MRI that I had one that was 2 cm in my left kidney. If you don't know metric, 2 cm is the equivalent of 3/4 in. round and they had me taking drugs to help break it up so smaller pieces would pass, or at least break up so they could go in and get them, hence 3 surgical procedures.

I'll tell you about the stent removal in the Drs. office one day. No picnic with that either.

I've had 3 stents removed in the Drs. office. They don't require anesthesia to do so and I've never had any. That is one freaky feeling when the Dr. inserts his tools up your tool to go in, grab the stent and then pull it out.

I never realized those things were so long until I saw one he pulled out of me and it was damn near 1 ft. long.

I had a 2.2 cm stone that had to have surgery to be removed. It sucked. I have picture of it but don’t know how to attach it from phone.

My Pops had one, and only one, before I was born. He and my mom were already married at the time and she took him to the ER. He was rolling on the waiting room floor and my Mom said to him, "Get up! You're embarrassing me." He had words for her.

They got him back to an exam room and he couldn't stay in the bed. He was back in the floor. ER doc walked in and said, "Yep....kidney stones."

This is a man who would have a heart attack years later when I was a senior in high school and when asked by the nurse his pain level on a scale of 1-10 he would say, "Maaayyybeee a 3, could be a 4."

This is almost my exact experience, but I went into a bathroom in the ER to shriek and roll around on the floor until I was seen. I also refused to wear boxers or pants to the ER because the pain was so bad. I wore an untied robe instead. My favorite phrase that night was frick OFF!

1st one in 1979. Dozens and dozens and dozens since then. Sucks. The funny thing is when I started getting them they were almost unheard of. Now everyone I run into had one or knows someone close that has.

Drink apple cider vinegar w/Mother’s. Helps to smooth out the edges of them and won’t make you pass out when you pee them out.

I get them too and I’m a healthy baw.

I thought I've had it bad with 4 or 5 stones in my lifetime resulting in one lithotripsy but from reading this thread I feel kind of lucky.

About 15 years ago while on a barge rig around Wax Lake I felt a stone. I was really hoping to avoid a medical emergency as I was also the only hand on board for the job. One evening I was on the rig floor and stepped around back to piss. Felt a slight tingle through my dick and about a second later heard a tiny splash hit the water. Talk about physical and mental relief.

I’ve had five. Last one was huge. Three surgeries later... you don’t want to know, so I’ll go ahead and tell you...

They put a stint in your wiener, go in and break up the stone, then grab the little pieces and go in and out of your wiener pulling the pieces of the stone out.

That part was easy...

It was being told I’ll now pass a clot and when I do it will be the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced.

That was no lie. At the urinal at Adair’s in Dallas (best way to pass one is to drink lots of alcohol right?), and I passed the clot. Took me to my knees it was so painful.

Immediate relief after that.

Bad thing is this—once you’ve had one stone, you’re far more likely to have more.

I know its gross, but the nurse told me after the lithotripsy, take a warm bath and piss in the water. It makes the first few tries at urination tolerable. I'll never forget when my procedure was over I needed to pee 100mL before they would let me go home. Sounds easy. I think I screamed when I started to pee.

I’ve had stents put in twice after surgery. Both times the little string hanging out your dick went back up into my bladder.

Know how they get the string ????

They put lidocaine up your pee hole then insert a tube with a claw (like the claw arcade game) that also has a video camera. They grab the string and pull out the tube. Once the tube is out they pull the string and remove the stent. You can feel it going down the tube from your kidney to bladder but not out your dick it’s numb.

They you go pee and you can’t leave till there are no more clots and your per is free of blood. By this time your dick isn’t numb as much so it burns to pee but afterwards the pain free back and kidneys is worth it.

fricking kidney stones are the devil

Tea caused mine , I used to drink it constantly! Now I don’t touch it . Oxalate in tea is the culprit.

Drink your damn water, fools. Better to piss more per day than to piss stones.
