Maybe like Florida did in the late 90s get rid of dot employees and hire all contractors. That way politicians like Jindal can sell 10k steak dinners at his campaign events to contractors and the tax payer can foot the bill. I know many contractors driving king ranch f250s on $11 an hr lol. Florida almost went bankrupt before they saw the light

Man, you state workers who have been sucking off the public tit while being paid to sit at home during this “pandemic”, sure love to wag your fat, soft fingers at the Jindal boogeyman.
I’m glad to know he - and only he- is the reason our infrastructure sucks. Guess no other governor (think EWE) ever had the suspicion of corruption, right? No other politicians, and certainly no state workers (lol) have ever been guilty of taking bribes?
Bitch please.

And to your point, YES. Get rid of DOTD and let contractors do the work. If our roads can be as nice as Florida’s or Texas it’s a good deal. The corruption won’t end but at least something will get done.

LA DOTD is the best road builder in the country. They build a road and never have to repair or replace it — ever.

Sounds like you must have bought a few of them steak dinners probably have the king ranch f250 and you got the debris contract for $28 a yd and then paid the poor driver $5 a yd to do the work and haul it. All at the tax payer expense.Maybe you like to call a contractor plumber and pay him $300 to unclog your toliet everytime instead of doing it yourself. I dont think EVERY tax payer can afford or wants to foot the bill for ALL contract work...hahaha

Louisiana has more miles of elevated highways than any state...elevated concrete equals ice, ice doesnt equal snow plow for those in Rio linda.

Yeah, I get all that. I'm not talking about icy roads but this:

Can confirm...drove from Nola to Dallas today. Not a bad drive at all until the shite show in Shreveport. Didn't even really make sense. As soon as I hit the TX state line, 85mph the whole way to Dallas.

I spoke with multiple people who drove from Dallas or Arkansas into LA. They had no major problems until they hit the LA state line and got stuck in traffic for 10-18 hours. I also spoke with multiple people that were stranded for days at truck stops on I20, living in their car, trying to get out of LA into Texas. TX and AR may have had delays but it was nothing compared to the I20 fiasco. I guess it was one of those "you had to be there" things. And if it had been I10 we'd have a 100 page bitch fest.

We should have rented plows from unaffected states.

With what money, exactly?

Amplify emergency response time to an accident by 50 during an ice road event coupled with other major routes closed forcing everyone onto interstate = what you got...During a normal emergency interstate closure things back WAY UP in a very short time. They are many things that can be done to be PROACTIVE INSTEAD OF REACTIVE, but they all cost $$$$$

Plow ice in all of I-20? Brilliant!! Some folks can't even get out of their driveway. Stay inside until it's safe.

Snow and sleet, before it thaws and refreezes, is damn sure plowable you fkn toady. I220 has been closed since Friday 2/13.

Rented plows:)))) from where, Wisconsin? Because states that plow snow regularly have plows to spare. You are an idiot.

All you whiny bitches need to grow a set. it snows once a year in Shreveport and the rest of the state like once every 5 years..

A friend who got caught on I-20 said a truck drive f2cked up and jack-knifed blocking the lanes. Prior to that the road was fine. Once he screwed up not even the wrecker services would come out because he creates such a cluster. This was between Ruston and Bossier.
