Leftists don't see themselves as public servants. As an authoritarian she's comfortable threatening her own people.

New Orleans is better than ever

I along with my entire family proudly voted "no."
I elected to live outside of the city, with exactly this as the reason. I won't buy property where I can have the property held hostage.
I was looking for a house in 2015. In the age of the internet, in a city where the newspaper had cut back to 3 days a week, with a big population of renters, there was a vote for a millage increase to support library branches. I don't want to own property there.

The people of New Orleans reap the rewards of their poor decision making....not you obviously but the majority of the people that you live around (in a round about way of seeing it) made a bad choice.

This is crazy. Before Mitch left office, there were full page ads showing every street in the city with the plans to fix each street. Some were just cosmetic, others were full blown repairs. Octavia Street(Mitch lives on the street) was supposed to be redone down to the piping from Freret to Claiborne. Not a pothole has been patched. I think it had a catchy title like the Max Pave Initiative.
Living in New Orleans is a nightmare. I'm almost done. She is terrible.

All of this is such a complete joke. Once the dollars from the Feds dried up, the city hasn't done anything on re-pavement and road repairs. Other than the major arteries (Jefferson, Napoleon and Louisiana), Uptown streets are as bad as I can remember.

Is that even possible?

People who don't own property shouldn't e able to vote on property taxes.

Most residents don't expect a return on city services at this point. The system is completely broken.
The city can't properly manage its own finances and operations, why would you give it more tax money?

I ‘member that document. That was a complete fantasy.
Octavia used to be fairly smooth except for the protruding man-hole (

I have said this for years. Why do people who are not property owners get to vote on property tax issues. This particular segment of the New Orleans population thinks all taxes are just more for them. What they don't realize is that every time property taxed go up, your rent is also going to go up. I have a couple of rentals uptown and have had no choice to but to continually increase rents every time there was an increase in taxes. As an owner, I'm not seeing anymore profit, and I'm not going to eat it. They just don't understand.

So instead of waiting 3 hours for a cop to show up to a scene you can at least know they won't be coming at all.

Is that an apples to apples comparison? Is NOLA budget only the general fund?
I don't know and I know there is a real danger comparing budgets.
Some cities/parishes provide more services than others do.

You need to back off bro. How else Latoya gonna pay for connected corrupt contractors to implode the Hard Rock, and to distribute other miscellaneous graft to various and sundry cronies.
