As a father of 3 teenagers. Wow. Just wow
I have 2 teenagers. Both driving, one in college. But I've raised mine to not need me to hold their hand through life.

Just because it has been normalized doesn't mean it's not weird.
ETA: Helicopter parenting fricks up kids and stunts their development and growth. I see it dealing with Zoomers at work. They can't make a decision to save their lives. It's sad.

These guys don't realize the damage their doing to their kids. Yes of course as parents we have a responsibility to protect our children but we also have to raise them into functioning adults that can take care of themselves and solve their own problems.

What's weird is your take. I travel a lot for both work and umpiring. I activate it when I'm away from my home so my wife doesn't worry.

I hunt in some sketchy places that if you didn't know where to look I wouldn't be found. It is purely a safety thing for me.

I love how people nowadays justify coddling their kids and being helicopter parents. Almost like it’s a badge of honor.

They're babysitting, not parenting

A guy I work with lets his wife track him with this app, I think it may because was a playa in the past.

In this insano world we're currently living in, if you don't want to know where your underage children are then u may not be parenting well enough.
They need freedom to grow and make mistakes. Constant supervision undermines that and ultimately makes them more anxious than if they had never been monitored at all. Plus it’s just freaking weird.

Cool anecdote. Still doesn't justify a tracking and stalking app for a very rare event. I just don't get this obsessive surveillance, and it is objectively ruining kids. They can't make decisions and have no idea how to do shite for themselves.
You’re assuming it’s obsessive. I actually never look at it unless I know they’re on the way to my house and I’m looking to see if they’re close.
I had no clue my daughter wrecked until she called me. Life 360 was simply the tool that helped us find her.

Your wife has you doing chores, of course you don't care if she knows where you are. Your balls are already in her purse.

Sounds like you’re hiding something
I don’t mind my wife, knowing where I’m at so she doesn’t have to text me if I’ve left a certain location yet.

Again -- you all have the same NPC talking points. "I nEveR lOoK aT iT!!!" -- what is the point?
It's unnecessary and is intrusive and bad for kids imo. I would like to see if there is research to show negative effects of this constant monitoring by parents.

Okay? Still unnecessary to be constantly monitoring your children like that.

How does Life360 = holding hands? ??
I use it not to see where my family is, but to see that they made it to where they’re going. My seven year old daughter went to my parents last night, I made sure they made it home. Last weekend my in laws had my seven year old and my five month old for a few hours while my wife and I had to attend a business dinner, I used it to make sure they made it to where they were going.
And like someone mentioned earlier, I use it to let me know that it’s time to hustle and get all of the wife’s to do list done before she gets home lol
