I went thru a pretty big drought a couple of years ago. In the meantime I was getting my fix thru porn damn near daily. The next couple of times I did try to hook up with a girl it was hard to maintain an erection and it seemed like more work than pleasure. Really freaked me out. I quit watching porn/fapping for a month and sex became great again. It's weird how much it screws the brain up, but it does.

Sure you're not just suffering the beginning stages of OT badass syndrome? Have you begun to use the term baw in daily conversation yet?

honestly wish I wasn't attracted to the cartoonish physical features that chicks in porn have because it's not realistic and the girls that do look like that are usually dumb bimbos.

This part just isn't true. You can find plenty of beautiful and smart women. But a gorgeous smart driven woman isn't easy to be with. You'll have to work at the relationship, become a master of picking battles, and, yes, get bitched it. But they are usually super loyal if you prove yourself worth it.

just wonder if even if I was able to wean myself off porn, is the damage already done? Anyone here have any success/failure stories? I'm not talking about nofap, as I've read that most doctors agree masturbation is beneficial. Just talking about porn.

People make fun of it and bash it and all, but honestly your life improves if you abstain from it. Your sex drive increases, your stamina increases, you are calmer around women which is a huge boost, you can focus easier. It's scientific fact that the longer you go without ejaculating the more testosterone your body builds up. So if you abstain women can sense the testosterone. Like some prehistoric animal shite they just know and respond to it.

If you're already in a relationship, then you'd be amazed what stopping will do for you.

Good luck. And go ahead an bash.

I'm thinking you struggle with the concept of cause and effect.

No. It tells them your a man full of testosterone.

Increased ejaculations causes a release of estrogen in the body. It let's women know you're getting it from somewhere, so they should move on to the next male.

It's pheromones man. Science.

It is. Completely unhealthy.

Wildly unrealistic expectations and objectification are just the obvious reasons.

No man. You got it all arse backwards. It tells them you can't get laid so there must be some reason other women won't have anything to do with you.

Women want the dominant Alpha to pass their genes on with. The dominant alpha slays all the females in the herd.

They don't reject him cause he's low on T cause he just ejaculated in another woman, they go after him and compete for him precisely cause he did.

The guy who's slaying the most keeps on getting the most thrown at him. Not the horny loser in the corner brimming with Testosterone cause he can't get any.
Apparently you never studied herd behavior or Fred's on a Thursday night.

we know so little about the brain that it's hard for anyone to answer this definitively, but it's almost beside the point. We do know our brains are malleable and can repair themselves in fascinating ways. i would think this would be especially true in the case of over/distorted-sexual-stimulation, given that no external physical substance has been introduced to the brain.

but more importantly, changing your life going forward is of course possible. i haven't heard a single person ever say he regrets getting off of porn. it is an addiction, no matter whether you think you're addicted or not. I believe everyone who has ever used porn is addicted to it--it's just a matter of whether they are using actively.

the combination of two ridiculous ideas: a) shame and b) on the other end of the spectrum, "it's natural," coupled with utter ubiquity, have made this an epidemic.

seek help. get sober. you won't look back.

I think if you're in a relationship with a girl and you're still whacking it to other girls even when you're getting regular sex, you have a problem.

OK, then I agree. If that was my normal I'd never whack it.

ETA: for the majority of married guys, I think this frequency is above average.
