You need to stop. They'll lead you directly to diabetes. I speak from experience.

My BP and pulse have been elevated since catching COVID (for the second time) in January. ~150/100 BP and pulse of 90-100 without meds. Started on beta blockers, didn't do much, just switched to Ca channel blockers and finally feel a bit better. Just measured at 134/86 with pulse of 74.

I take blood pressure medication. Over the summer I passed out while standing a few time. After the third time, wife took me to the ER. Turns out I had very low sodium levels that was causing it.

Doctor's recommendation was eat more salt and drink more water.

So much for trying to eat healthier. Turns out it was going to kill me.

Well, I can tell you from several past experiences that low blood pressure can cause unscheduled horizontalness. So, in my opinion, you should watch your BP, unless you enjoy waking up on the floor with the dog staring at you. Especially if dehydrated and going from sitting to standing. I think the doctors call it orthostatic blood pressure drop or something like that.

That said, high BP isnt worth a shite either. Mine was 175/106 at 6:31 this morning. Over the past few years, I've been on amlodipine, losartin, valsartin, lisinopril, edarbi and a couple of others that don't immediately come to mind. None are working, or they work too well - and the dog wonders why you're taking a sudden nap.

I'm having my 2nd angiogram in 16 months Friday morning which, in theory, may resolve my BP issues by clearing a blockage or blockages in my primary pump. I hope it works.

But you should express your concerns to your cardiologist. Hopefully, he/she (they?) will know what the frick is going on. Good luck! I mean that sincerely.

Zevia (stevia sweetened soft drinks) is a pretty good alternative. The cola tastes like knockoff cola so if you're absolutely married to real Coca-Cola Classic(TM) then you might have to just suffer through. The creamy root beer is legit though.

I’ve talked to my doctor about it and he’s not concerned.

Because you’re experiencing some lightheaded symptoms at times, I’d advise you to seek a second opinion. That’s my professional opinion as a paramedic who has seen multiple patients with your symptoms before.

Just took it again. 127/80 so the upped dose of Lisinopril is healing a lot.

The bad news is that I think I need to switch to decaf as caffeine in the morning seems to elevate my BP.

People who check their blood pressure when they are not at a doctor visit have a lot more problems than their blood pressure and that’s a fact jack… they need to look at weight/exercise, diet/water intake, stress/anxiety… not a number.

Have usually been told by their doctor to get a BP monitor and to check it a couple of times daily to monitor how new medication doses are working.

Generally speaking for heart patients, low HR and low BP is not concerning to me UNLESS symptomatic and how often. i suggest take your BP twice a day and bring log to your next appointment. If your heart muscle is weak or if you have had a MI, then low HR and low BP is the goal

That's exactly what I said on Tuesday of last week when they told I flunked my stress test. I went to parades on Saturday and Sunday and was sucking wind after just walking a few blocks, which was a new development for me.
I'm having my 2nd angiogram Friday. I'm 60.

If it’s that low you may not need it…or maybe change your dosage. Don’t want it to drop too much below 90 systolic.

Yes I know it’s called the silent killer, but doesn’t mean people have to sit at home and freak out/take their BP every time they breathe.

People live at 200/100, just as well as 120/80… although not healthy it is not an emergency unless the person is having symptoms

If your BP is running 200/100 consistently, I hope you are on warfarin, xaralto, or eliquis. If you're not on a blood thinner, I would think you're at an above average risk for stroking out. But you do you.
