there is an increased chance that the bone itself may get infected
I got bit by a person in a fight once and the ER doc said the order of nastiness goes like this:

People
Cats
Dogs

You are more likely to get infected from a person biting you. They should give her some antibiotics and that will protect it

You also don't want your dog to get infected. Any bite, human or animals, are full of bacteria that could do more damage than the bite itself. You really need to take the dog in IMO.

I know I have a friend that is a vet and they said just do what I am doing and if it appears to get worse bring him in.

I spent 3 days, even had an operation. As well as a MRI & stress test. $5,400 total . The operation was the bulk of that. The actual ER visit was the cheapest.

Isn't a bull terrier an off shoot of a pit? If that's the case it could be trouble getting homeowner's insurance to pay for it.

I am not sure but I don't think it is.

Isn't that the Spudz McKenzie Budweiser dogs? I have heard they can be mean dogs.

They did give her some crazy strong antibiotics after they knew the bone was broken...originally the doctor gave her Bactrum (sp?), but then gave her some C name antibiotic after they noticed the break...

She is allergic to Penicillin so they couldn't just give her Amoxcillan

It was a question. I'm not a veterinarian or self proclaimed dog expert.

Damn, you got off really good on that one.

I mean nowadays...you call 911 and need an ambulance...go ahead and add 4-5k to your bill for the ambulance ride alone.

Pisses me off when people with Medicaid call 911 like they would a taxi service to get to the ER for stuff they could go to a doctor for. Recently cared for a child with a bad ear infection...mom called 911 to get to ER. Must be nice knowing you'll never have to pay that bill.

this really makes me think about who I care more about my gf or the dog...to me my GF has insurance, but my dog does not...

I feel horrible for saying that, but monetarily speaking it's the truth

Iberville...St. Gabriel...it was a normal length leash (whatever that length is)...wasn't one of those bungee cord leashes
