There is a huge difference between religion and spirituality. Where religion has failed me, spirituality has opened a whole new universe. Go back and read some of genuineLSUtiger's posts in this thread.

I wasn't really religious either, I felt like church was just another thing to do every week to be a good parent. I'm 33 years old. But I really have found some peace in the daily grind knowing I can pray and develop a relationship with a higher being. Sorry if I'm invading your message board.

Don't apologize. Everyone gets to have an opinion on here. Sometimes you get worthwhile discussion and sometimes you get loads of crap slung at you. The #1 rule of posting on this board is: You must grow a thick skin and let the crap slide off.

You didn't.

"Accept Christ or burn in hell like you deserve to. " would be harsh or invading. That's not how I took your comments.

Bump this thread to update.

Searches and YouTube of Echhart Tolle led to other videos on Wim Hof. Just a crazy guy who does a couple of meditative exercises. One is simply breathing and holding breath. The other is ice baths or cold showers. I thought t was bullshite. But the shower does relax you in a way. And the breathing does calm you.

He gets more spiritual and more brain waves in his discussions. Something I thought the folks talking about Tolle might be interested in. Less discussion and a couple of simple things that HE SAYS helps you find some of what we are all looking for.

Have some time off planned in the summer.

I swear, it feels like I blinked my eyes and my 30s were gone. The first half of my life seemed to pass SO much slower.

I can remember the first time I put "30" on a piece of cardio equipment at the gym. My birthday was just a drunk fest otherwise. It never sank in until seeing that red digital "30". Then it hit me.

That was 14 years ago.

The first time I ever really felt old was when I was in a bar and a girl I used to bang in high school ran up to me, hugged, kissed me, then started showing me pictures of her grandkids. And that was ten years ago.

Ok, I'm about to blow your mind....Time is RELATIVE.

When you were 2 years old (if you could remember anything from back then...you cant) one summer would be like 1/6th of your entire life....so do you remember summers seeming to last FOREVER when you were young? Well that is because they were long in terms of your total life span on this planet.

As you get older years, months, and days get shorter relative to your age....now it seems that a summer will fly by.

You cant stop it, just enjoy the ride.

One day you are remembering high school, then you are remembering college, then you remember your first job, then before you know it, your music you grew up with is on the oldies station.

I look at how big my children are getting and I wonder where the time went. They were so little what seemed like yesterday and now they are getting older by the minute.

At least they still think I'm cool and they are still sweet for the moment. I'm dreading the teenage years.

Yeah like someone said earlier, you can't slow it down.

I just throw my life into my wife and kids. It's fun to have young kids like I do at my age, because they make life fun for me. Make me feel younger than I am. Plus a lot of their friends moms are hot, so I can be the old dad, creepily staring at them when we are at parties or play dates.

As much as I love my sons, and I'm proud of the things they do and did in high school, and knowing that their growing is part of life and what's supposed to happen...I still miss them as babies and children. The wonder they had at things...being able to pick them up and hug them.

Our 80 years is just a whisper in time. It's where we go next that really matters.
