didn’t really agree with his method, but it’s not that difficult to click your key fob when you get out of the car, or before you go to bed.

People forget their child in the vehicle.

You're not correct in your reasoning unless the place is truly just an absolute fricking war zone. Opening an unlocked door is a much easier and more passive act than taking the next level of loudly smashing fricking glass into shards to go into through the window when you could easily just move on to the next vehicle that your dumbass has left unlocked.

Belhaven
Yeah that was fairly dangerous when I was a kid. Hell people were getting carjacked there 20 yrs ago. It's right by the ghetto.

The scary thing is the ghetto is moving beyond the city limits. I was in Ridgeland last year and County Line Rd is getting sketchy.

It’s been sketchy for a while and my parents in their 70’s won’t move. Belhaven is a unique neighborhood where a 1.1 million dollar house could be next to a rental property making 1500 a month. A street could go 200k, 450k, vacant lot, 150k, 600k, 450k, 189K…it’s an unusual place.

Unlock your doors and sleep in your car. That way you can surprise the thief.

Think like a criminal in this scenario:

A vehicle you see in a neighborhood of “meh” steal value, might hold valuables

A vehicle you see in a neighborhood of “meh” steal value, you know does not hold valuables

Which vehicle is more likely to be vandalized. In my direct experience, it’s been vehicle # 1.

I've seen too many videos of people checking for unlocked doors and moving on when they find locked doors.

And if anything is taken, good luck getting insurance to pay for it if your door was unlocked.

Not to mention, you can actually be fined if it happens.

What totalitarian state do you live in? If it’s Louisiana, that explains the downvotes in this thread. Submission by state oppression.

I would be curious to know which people in this thread have had their vehicle broken into with locked doors…what did they take?
