That’s one list I do NOT want to be on.

Only about 20 years behind with this one.

nope...depends on your company's drug and alcohol policy. if they say you can't do it, then you can't do it.

Still better than the joke of a medical MJ policy Texas has

Small banks are going to be the only ones who takes those types of risks. Big banks and credit unions aren’t going to do it.
Yeah federal charter banks won’t touch MJ derived money

Medical MJ cards will be easier to get than a handicapped parking tag.

Its truly unbelievable how naive people are about this.
Companies can still set their own drug policies.
Most construction and healthcare jobs, for example, still don't allow it to show up in piss tests in Colorado.
The world isn't going to all of sudden end if a plant is made legal.

being it's about to be medicinally used, it's possible some employers will allow it's use, with valid documentation...
of course, LA is an "at will" state, so they could fire you for wearing a T shirt with a picture of weed on it, much less actually having it in your system during a drug screen, so i guess we'll see....

I've always told people for years that Louisiana will never allow weed in any form until the politicians figure a way to get family & friends paid! Think I may be right on this one.
Just replace the word "anything" with weed and you got it!

exactly... we tried calling around to several banks, when we were kicking the idea around of applying for a marijuana pharmacy permit for the BR region, and securing a bank to do business with was pretty much impossible... we had only one option, and even that one was "iffy", at best...

MD's have been allowed to prescribe it here for YEARS... it's just been illegal to dispense, in this state, in any form, until now...

Still illegal federally.
It's actually because employers have rights.
The state of Oregon already set that precedent.
A millwright got hurt and pissed hot. He had a card. He was fired. He sued and it went to the state supreme court where employers rights were held up.

The only reason they still can is because it's illegal federally and that overrides state laws. If it is every taken off the schedule 1 lists then that will change somewhat. Also they will have to come up with a test that is able to tell is someone is high or if it is just in their system from past use.

Not true. Even when it becomes legal on a federal level and it's rescheduled employers will STILL be able to test if they want to.
Employers have rights and that won't change.

That's not what the courts said. A man sued his company for firing him when he was prescribed it medically. The verdict was since it was a federal schedule 1 the firing was legal. If they reschedule I'm sure cases will get brought to court again. Then the whole impaired vs in system and prescribed medication issue will be brought up again.
They will not be able to fire someone who wasn't impaired while working and may have had the substance in his system.

We still don't have accurate testing.

So, you're saying they'll be able to test?
When the day comes and we have legitimate instant test results of a person within the last 12 hours, or whatever time. I expect someone to not get fired if they weren't high at the time of a workplace accident, random, or a pre-employment screening.
All I said is, the employers will STILL have rights. They will be able to test regardless if it's legal. We test for alcohol currently and it's legal.
