Me and some buddies would go in there occasionally on slow party nights. We also located blueprints of a map of the tunnels in the library which helped locate other tunnel entrances.

Yep. There was easy access at a couple of spots. We called one of the areas the "AC" room as it blew some colder air. Had a few beverages down there.

Ket. He was the old crazy man who would wander the back roads of Avoyelles Parish at night and would put little kids in his old potato sack where they would disappear forever.

I was waiting for this.

We were on the property once in high school when the cops showed up.

Not really an urban legend, but my grandma used to call any strange noises, bumps in the night, and eerie feelings “The Woo Woos”. She was French though, so I’m not sure if it had a Louisiana connection.

Grunch Road

I’ve heard a few different versions of this. Some have the road on the West Bank - possibly Algiers. Most, though, have Grunch Road located in The East somewhere off of Hayne Blvd.

Some of the stories tell of a Chupacabra type creature called The Grunch.

Others tell of a community of albinos and dwarves that lead unsuspecting motorists to an untimely death with a goat.

Madame Grande-doits. She sounds like a monster, but apparently she just brings presents to spoiled kids on New Year day.

Snipers on top of the Done and 9 foot of water in Kenner after Katrina. My arse. I watched the Spike Lee documentary and it was a bunch of propaganda nonsense.

You left out the most spectacular part of the dome snipers. It wasn’t just any old snipers up there. It was Chris Kyle and a hand selected team of operators.

Never bought a second to that crap. Left out black people saying the Corps of Engineers and Bush "bumbed" the levees and deliberately flooded the 9th ward. It was actually barges hitting each other from the winds

Yeah that’s a far fetched theory even by today’s standards.

I was definitely confused because I used to ask my teachers about it all of the time (this is in the 80's). Mountain into a molehill I guess (pun intended).

People always said that the old JCC on Jefferson/St. Charles had a pool on the roof.
No way?
