forcing members to sleep
To force any 18 year-old to sleep is not punishment.
I'd have killed to have had someone MAKE me sleep at that age, I was ALWAYS tired.

Why the frick are they getting initiated March 10? When I was there in the mid 90's hell week for spring pledges was in August...
Dude, they literally were forcing frats to actually tell IFC when your initiation date was and that you couldn't hold them over anymore. If you did, you gone.
90s and Ben Wynne ended most of the craziness allowed.

LSU is supposed to care for and educate these young adults,
They don't care at all.

Kids make mistakes, things go too far, there is liability. I get that. But we've extended it to some really stupid levels. Making a pledge feel as though they are in fact a pledge is not wrong. Making them clean, or taking their phones away, or making them attend things is not going to cause actual harm, so why is Greek Affairs so against this type of "hazing".
Majority of Greeks get involved. You do philanthropies with other greek organisations, the pledges go help the girls pomping for homecoming parade. Things like songfest.
Gdis don't do any of that shite, yet they all still drink and do drugs and rape women. And no one bats an eye.

Other than withholding medication, that all sounds really tame and kinda lame.

I'd like to know the details of the withholding medication charge. It's always been a practice to hold valuables and things like meds when the entire pledge class is brought together during initiation week. Is it this practice that is being criticized or was there some actual abuse of the situation?

That's what happened here except the kid did not give his meds to the actives. He had a heart condition and told no one about it all semester.
