Most of them do not want to break that cycle. Easier to blame others instead of being accountable for yourself.

I just looked at his Twitter and there is a lot of shameless self promotion and whoring going on there. I had heard the faculty there had been turning left for a while, and now it seems like in a couple of years it will be hardly recognizable.

It’s a very American story of how black people have systematically been denied the opportunity to live in safe and stable neighborhoods.

Let me get this right. Blacks live in black neighborhoods and resent the cops patrolling their neighborhoods.

So, who is denying their safety and stability? The cops? Their black neighbors?

Are whites driving thru their neighborhood and committing crimes, then leaving?

How do cops and whites contribute to the 4,500 black men killed every year by other blacks?

According to the Washington Post: "among black Americans, 82 percent of gun deaths are homicides."

Maybe Obama could issue one of those executive orders banning blacks from owning guns. That would save 3,690 black lives a year!

Look how many black lives could be saved. Yet, in the name of political correctness, we make no effort to stop the senseless slaughter!

Instead, people riot over the 112 blacks killed on average every year by cops......

I think the people ignoring the 4,500 black lives are being racist by allowing the slaughter to continue without addressing the issue.

Disparages South BR. Gives excuse why he moved his family to South BR. Still tried to make case for victim card.

I seriously doubt we are friends on Facebook. If we ever were, I likely unfriended you a long time ago. I have unfriended a lot of liberals over the last 8 years, including another 3 or 4 after the Alton Sterling incident. I use Facebook to keep up with friends and family, not to see the idiocy of the left (or the far right for that matter - I've unfriended those as well that post too much political crap).

not to derail this thread, but do you not get tired of just viewing the world in an echo chamber?

I enjoy seeing the opinions of others even if I strongly disagree with them

I have no interest in the opinions of others outside of the opinions I seek out. The average joe is uninformed and/or irrational.

It's common on my Facebook right now. Attorneys saying they will defriend you if you don't "get it". If you disagree, it's because you are racist. I mean, this is coming from people who are PAID TO DISAGREE FOR A frickING LIVING. They need to seriously grow the frick up.

They want things to change, but they want to set the parameters for discussion and ANY DEVIATION means the conversation is over and you are branded a racist or "part of the problem". It's hardly how civilized discussion should work.

I've unfollowed just about anyone who spams me with clickbait articles on a daily basis... most of them have been right-leaning people.

Really? There is only one guy who does that on my FB. He probably makes his wife go down on him while he watches Fox News. The majority are super liberal, check your privilege, "I wish I could be an abortion doctor" type of people who are constantly posting screenshots of some fricking hipster retard who makes a catchy yet horrible analogy about the current sociopolitical environment.

And, no, I'm not a "right wing" person.

Too many view the lives of people in north Baton Rouge as the cumulative result of poor choices, weak values and dependency. This is more than just lazy thinking. It’s an intolerable lie predicated on the erasure of all of our city’s and nation’s history. Like many urban communities, north Baton Rouge is the result of specific policy choices, social patterns and the toll that all of it eventually takes on neighborhoods, families and individuals. It’s a very American story of how black people have systematically been denied the opportunity to live in safe and stable neighborhoods. No amount of “individual responsibility” or “bootstrapping” will ever change that.

Hmmm...

A state that has had, what, 3 R governors since Reconstruction, and I think one R Senator elected that covers that area. Also a town that has had majority mayors that are Ds....

Hmmmm....

Wonder what party's policies have done this...

Hmmm....

Wonder what party this Prof supports....

Hmmm....

Yes. Most of them are people I know through my dad if that helps you understand. One is a former coworker (retired as well) who can't help but share every single Allen West, WomenOnTheRight, YoungConservatives, etc "article" no matter how old or how redundant they are.

Because I only care about the opinions of people I respect, like Warren Buffett, George W Bush, et al and don't care about the opinion of Susan down the street? How that makes any sense is beyond me, but you only prove my point - most people are uninformed or irrational.
