I just put in an offer on an Accord. They have an additional $1700 in dealer fees, and want another $400 just for grins. I told them their huge dealer fees are oppressive, and that my reasonable, and fair, offer stands, as is. They had 2 different managers tell me how aggressive their pricing is and that they were offering a wonderful deal. I told them that if the deal was so wonderful, it would have sold weeks ago.

You're not alone, this is why Carvana and CarMax are gaining popularity.

write your offer on your business card, walk in, hand it to a sales person, tell him call me if you accept. walk out.
Lease does not have that type of wiggle room

Yeah I was going to say try carvana.
Do you pay a good amount more for using them as far as having them deliver the vehicle and shite?

i took a vehicle to carmax to sell. the price they came back with was laughable, so i put an ad in the paper. sold it a week later for more than double what carmax offered me.

The place I just went to a used car salesman came up to me and ask if he could help me...I told him I already spoke with the sales manager and I just needed to know where this specific car was located and it would be great if he could get the keys for me.....he caught an attitude and walked away....so of course I had a few words with him and went tell his boss that I would not be buying a vehicle from this dealership ever.
Back to looking for something else online.....

If we are banned friends are allowed to join, the Skill Alexa says hi. She enjoys car talk.
Not very good at driving them in my opinion. Believe me I know.

I agree. I have done 90% of this through texts and email. I did my research, found out what it was worth and offered a reasonable price. They are greedy. My wife has asked me not to ask if the greedy manager is 'shrooming. I may go with an Infiniti instead.

Then you have to deal with the ridiculous low ballers coming out of the woodwork.

that's a good suggestion, except i'd tell the salesperson to make sure not to call with any other offer, and if they did, it'd be over.
i told an insurance salesperson not long ago that i'd only deal in emails. the insurance person called me. boom, no insurance sale for that person and i blocked their number.
