Yeah, that's the down side.

Do you go to a sit down (non fast food) restaurant for lunch very often?

Then you should know how to negotiate but obviously not.

I am actually excluded from this but that isn't the point. Many people use this service on this board and it is also affecting many small businesses. Not sure why you opted to try and take a shot at me on this.

If you read the article, you will see in the CEOs statement that the rates that are slated to change in August are non negotiable, it’s a take it or leave it situation.

Tell us what restaurant you own?

99% of the time when I use Waitr, I do the self pick up. I basically just use the app as a way to order and there is no fee. It also is convenient to see the different options around me.
This is primarily how Ibuse it as well, since not every restaurant has its own online ordering system. It's going to suck if places start leaving the Waitr platform.

This. Why would a restaurant agree to pay 15% instead of just starting their own take out/delivery

Yeah they sent that sent it to every the other day. They also send a reminder 4 times a day to sign the new contract. Sneaky frickers tried to keep it fast and quiet.

I’m one of the few here that use waitr a lot so the restaurants that op out of the new terms will just lose my business. I don’t expect them to lose money though

Waitr is positioning themselves along the lines with Grub Hub and Uber Eats, maybe Postmates. I feel like Waitr is giving up market share on this one.

What was the difference between waiter and the others? I’ve only used postmates

What is the current fee structure for restaurants? Curious how much of a change this really is to absorb.

I don’t know what the correct move would be but something has to be done to show a profit

In my case we negotiated a fee of 15% and that seemed to be the usual fee with an upfront fee of $3k. Now they want to go to a sliding scale based on your sales. When I get home i will post the scale.

OBVIOUsly you are not a waitr partner since you are completely wrong
Posted on 7/6/19 at 9:23 pm to Johnpettigrew
Care to go further with that?
Posted on 7/6/19 at 9:24 pm to jmarto1
Waitr just made room for all the other competitors. Stupid decision.
