Well my Waitr rep told me to raise my rates right off the bat the compensate for the % Waitr was taking off the top. They told that to everyone I personally know that has them. So they created the situation.

They sent out a memo on the tablets 2 weeks ago requesting businesses to push their wait times back from 15-20 to 30-45 minutes.

A year ago they were doing 25% or 15% if you put up $1500.
Posted on 7/7/19 at 12:11 am to MetrySaint24
15%. They have refunded some their 1500

I don’t trust a 3 rd Party to be handling my food.
A friend of mine used door dash one time. He went out to the parking lot to get the food and the guy had let the bag tilt over and some fries had spilt out. The driver was putting them back in the bag. His car was full of trash etc.....
Nope I’ll drive myself I’m not lazy

Will be cancelling their service when the new agreement pops up on the iPad.

This is fine & well for single order meals.
But as a married father of 3, Waitr or GrubHub is a massive time & money saver. Especially on weeknights of after school/sports/dance/work/PTA/etc. 5 meals, drinks, & tax + tip adds up along with the TIME.

99% of the time when I use Waitr, I do the self pick up. I basically just use the app as a way to order and there is no fee. It also is convenient to see the different options around me. This is primarily how Ibuse it as well, since not every restaurant has its own online ordering system. It's going to suck if places start leaving the Waitr platform.
This appears to be changing but this seems to be the biggest waste of all. I did this until I realized I was still paying about 20% more for the actual food just to order through the app vs calling it in to the restaurant. I was still going to get it myself. Now I simply call the restaurant to order and save the markup.

Now that they are publicly traded there’s more pressure to show a profit. Something I don’t think they’ve ever done at the current rates.
None of the food delivery services are profitable. They have received hundreds of millions of dollars in venture capital with the idea that they would eventually capture marketshare but GrubHub and Ubereats I believe are roughly equal in share with roughly equal pricing and fees. They are at a stalemate while the companies blow through investment revenue with 0 return.

Anyone using this is an idiot many restaurants utilize more than 1 service I don’t see them surviving
These days I can think of UberEats and DoorDash off the top of my head. I’m sure there’s more.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Owners from many restaurants around Baton Rouge are planning to get off the Waitr delivery app.
On July 1, restaurant owners that use Waitr received an email from the company detailing a new deal that voids their current contracts

This has flown mainly under the radar, but Waitr plans on increasing the fees charged to restaurants on February 26th. Increasing commission fee by 6%, and transaction fee by $0.50.

Dear Restaurant Partner,
Our mission at Waitr has always been and will continue to be the most valuable delivery service for our restaurant partners. We are continuously evaluating ways to align the interest of our restaurant partners and our customers. With this in mind, we are working on adding additional features to our application and ways to get you, our partner, more exposure to potentially increase your orders and sales.
In order to ensure we are providing the service levels you require, Waitr has found it necessary to implement an adjustment to our restaurant commission rate. Effective February 26, 2020, commission rates on transactions will increase 6% and $0.5 per transaction.
We value your business and appreciate your loyalty and look forward to continued growth!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us here.
Sincerely,
The Waitr Team

I see these drivers stacked up in the waiting area of almost every restaurant I go to; meanwhile, I have to wait 30 minutes for my freaking appetizers because the kitchen staff is backed up with orders. Coincidence, I think not. frick em

Waitr is tanking. They seem to be losing market share every day.

I live 0.8 miles away from Chimes East and can’t get Waitr from them.
