Waitr has been screwed with the emergence of D'Livery NOLA which has started decimating Waitr in the metro New Orleans area. It opened in January and has been expanding exponentially since.

Only time I used it was when a bunch of us in the ER all ordered while working late one night but that was a lot of people and it was a very busy night. If its just me or just a few of us, I would go pick it up.
Before these type companies popped up, the extra nursing supervisor on night shift would go pick up the food order for the entire ER. They made it ez by all ordering from the one food source or at worst side-by-side food joints in a strip mall thing.

By extra night shift nurse super I mean the place normally could scrape by nights with just 1, but 2 were always there as a patient safety protocol just in case those rare nights where all Hell broke loose. Like maybe 5 times in the decade I was at that hospital both were busy the entire night. They mainly roamed the facility most nights taking care of the odds and ends and overseeing the minutiae busy days couldn't get to. Really rare occasions they had to tend to disputes, crises. It was hard work still but better than day nurse super.

Waitr is tanking. They seem to be losing market share every day.

How are the other services doing?

Would be really interesting to me if these delivery services had this huge success for a few years, and then dwindled down to being hardly existent in non-urban areas again.

There’s a woman in our office that uses it damn near every day for McDonalds and other fast foods that you don’t even need to get out your car for. Never understood this.

I know someone like this.

Cheap as frick about everything but will use these delivery services. Also continually complains about the service and costs, like it should cost $2 for someone to deliver food to her from across town.
