Well it’s far enough away from the influences of N.O. and B.R. so it has that going for it.

I've been around Mansfield and lived in the town for quite a while

my dad grew up in DeSoto parish, we had a camp on Toledo Bend in DeSoto Parish, and my dad did a ton of work in that parish when I was growing up(GC,) it was a pretty neat small town for a long time

The whole town could be on crack, and not be the crack capital of the US because there’s only like 3k people there

It is a little rougher lately as I think we're getting a few hood rats coming down here from Shreveport.

Years ago, there was a gas station than would have a completely full parking lot on Saturday nights (an all-black crowd). The fact that everyone could park every which way and fill it up perfectly was, frankly, amazing. There was a path for getting gas. One night my wife went to fill up her car and she went to that station. Everyone got out of the way and was very polite.

When did you live in GC? If it was in the 70's-90's we should know each other

on one of the K-Jon roads, but it would have mid to late 90's. At that time, I worked in Shreveport so I didn't spend much time socializing around Desoto Parish. My kids went to Central School though.

never lived there, grew up north of there, we did look at a beautiful ranch there(about 220 acres,) when I was a kid that my dad passed on and my cousin eventually bought, not only a beautiful place but paid off huge in gas royalties and had a 30 acre lake on it that the fracking baws are still buying water from

We looked at some land about four years before the Shale hit. Didn't buy it, wish we had as the bonus money paid would cover the price of the land x 5.

There was a teacher there in elementary school who would take the kids out to pick cotton and also made them do a leaf project.

Both of my kids were annoyed with her when she was their teacher, but now talk about how great she was.

That must have been the A T Martinez property, wasn't that where the vampire shows were filmed?

Is stonewall the best place around Shreveport if you don’t want to pay for private schools?
