Kelley purchased the Ruger AR-556 rifle in April 2016 from an Academy Sports & Outdoors store in San Antonio, a law enforcement official told CNN.

When Kelley filled out the background check paperwork at the store, he checked the box to indicate he didn't have disqualifying criminal history, the official said. He listed an address in Colorado Springs, Colorado when he bought the rifle, the official said.

Terrible what happened to those people. I see sjws all sharing the same shite on Facebook that he was white and a non Muslim. Does this really fricking matter? This is a sick puppy just like all these other shite heads killing people everyday. 20 people at one time is mass hysteria but how many have been killed in Chicago this year?

I focused on it today because it was used to kill 26 innocent people today. Seems to be that a AR-15 and simliar guns have been the weapon of choice for high profile mass murdersof innocent people as of late. I never said these guns are only owned for mass murder, but I do argue that they were designed to kill as many humans and cause as many mass casualties in as short of a time span as possible. That is the design of the AR-15. When you truly grasp how many mentally messed up people or people that have the potential to be messed are among you and can simply walk into their local Academy Sport Store and get a AR-15 for the sole purpose of committing this type of act we might want to at least review this process.

And in the sandy hook shooting he only used pistols. Please go somewhere with your bullshite. In columbine they used traditional rifles and shot guns. Why attack the gun instead of the man!?!

In Sandy Hook he used a Bushmaster Ak-15 to kill the kids but used the pistol to kill himself. The weapon that caused the most damage in Columbine a a fully automatic submachine handgun.

It was a semi-automatic. You're just like Whoopi Goldberg.

They took his FB down already. And I don’t know who “they” are.

Proxy buying is huge at gun shows. Guy with clean record buys gun with money given buy other guy ineligible to buy a gun. Private party doesn't have to do a background check.
But, limits on legal ownership won't change crime.

You can buy an illegal automatic for a lot less than a legal one.

Full auto AKs or "choppers" used to go for about $1500. Less depending on what you paid for the bartering substance.

A legit pre 1986 full auto legal chopper is like $20000. I used that example because a lot of illegal ones flooded the market but it's rare to hear of a crime committed with one.

was a clear motive ever revealed in the Las Vegas shooting?

No, and I'm becoming very skeptical of the FBI's credibility with every passing day.

Ah, you mean to tell me a criminal lied? Why am I not surprised?

Yet, just like we are seeing in this thread, this will be turned into another assault on legal gun ownership.

This just proves, yet again, that evil people will find a way to do evil things. It doesn't matter what the law is.

So what happens when AR’s are banned and someone who decides to commit mass murder uses a shotgun loaded with buckshot? Will we need to examine gun laws again?

Yes. Their end game is to take away all guns.

Kind of like renting a truck from home depot for the purpose of running people over? Do you we need to rethink that process? Or did you even question it?

I'm worried about contributing to keeping this thread political. I've read every post in it but I feel like responding to this. I agree with you HTTC, but in my strong opinion, "they" won't go door to door with swat teams to get our guns. The american economy will crash hard and the dollar will become absolutely worthless. "They" will then offer food, medicine, gasoline, oil,....etc..... to those that volunteer to trade in their firearms. When that plan is accomplished, then maybe force will be used on the most belligerent of the gun owners. The hard corps criminals will be the last ones with guns. They will be liquidated. This is all my personal opinion.

Edited because I'm a crap typer and speller.

That is a possibility.

Also, not sure if most people remember but a few years ago there was quite a lot of discussion about the need to update legal records for NICS to access. Congress, in all its wisdom regarding background checks, did not completely fund that part of the program.

I don't know if they ever did.

One thing I want to point out. Twenty five years ago when I first started getting into AR-15's you didn't hear about things like this happening. AR's were expensive back then, not nearly as cheap and available as they are now.

Nowadays they are affordable even for losers like this guy. While I am glad AR's have come down in price, the result is that some people who don't have the judgment to own a gun can now have access to them.

I don't believe they should be outlawed, but I do think a better system of determining ones ability to own a firearm responsibly needs to be looked at.
