This is partly what the death penalty is for, to prevent this BS from happening later.

Cognitive dissonance is not a virtue.

Gary didn't hide anything, he did that knowing he'd be caught, and took the only chance he could ever have to kill the guy that kidnapped and raped his son. There was no ambiguity around the actions of the perpetrator either.

And he didn't kill the guy's wife too. Nor go spend all his money after. They are different situations.

I think Gary should've done time also, FTR. And I think he thought he would and thought it was worth it.

true, but I'd trust something like DNA evidence that wasn't available at the time of the trial over an individual's possibly selective recall

I do see why the new evidence in this case deserves scrutiny, considering the sources. The band member could be looking for that last bit of fame with his claims.

agree that if it appears to be credible it should at least be heard to make sure "justice" was served, and it sounds like they've done that, I personally think it would be a travesty for those two to ever be set free just because our society has been on a tear for awhile on rewriting history

People who haven't been abused greatly underestimate the psychological effects it has on developing minds, especially when that abuse is done by a parent, and potentially ignored by another.

As they became fully grown adults, they realize what they did was reprehensible and wrong and seem to hold that view to this day.

They would get a lot more sympathy if their actions, including the planning, lying, etc, weren't so contradictory to their story. Lyle's side was that he wasn't abused but was protecting his brother. That is just bullshite no matter how you spin it.

yep, and nice touch by the defense to have them wear preppy clothes, makeup, and one of them, who was going bald, wear a hairpiece, to make them look more like yutes

If they let Manson Family members out, they’ll let anyone out.

What? Pretty sure Lyle has maintained that both he and Eric were abused by their father at points. Though I think they said it was only Eric in the time immediately before the shootings.

As far as the planning, premeditation, and lying piece, you're still trying to apply logic to an illogical situation that even full-fledged adults struggle to comprehend, much less late-teens, early-20's young adults.

All they knew from their parents was abuse, lying, manipulation, gaslighting, and physically dominant acts. They had been groomed to see their father as this Herculean force of nature that could "get" to them wherever they went.

This fricking board, man. Gary Plauche is a hero who did nothing wrong but these men belong in jail forever.

Plauche killed the guy who molested and kidnapped his little son.

Menendez bros were adults who planned the murder and planned a cover story. They concocted a story about it being a gang murder and they tried to have their dad’s updated will deleted bc he was cutting them out. They eventually admitted to the murders and told investigators it was bc their parents were “controlling” and rape was never mentioned at the time.

I'm totally in Plauche's corner, but he literally premeditated and planned his shooting as well...

don't think he ever disputed that, and he expected to be punished, if not killed on the spot, for it

Unreal.................California is going to California.

It's always funny when idiots who are from or still in Louisiana say shite like this.

How many times do we have to see thugs who were let out in Louisiana go on and commit other crimes before y'all realize it's not just a Cali thing? It's not just in Louisiana either, everywhere around the country is like this. I understand why y'all hate Cali, but y'all just say the most stupid shite without even thinking it through because "muh libtards".
