it was a bar/mwr on post, that all the AIT soldiers would go to on the weekends.
there was a big movie room where people would bang on the couches and they were never cleaned. it was a raunchy place

I always pictured AIT as being a giant, never ending frickfest for you lucky bastards who get to go through that instead of OSUT.

I was at knoX OCT 06. sure looked like that. everything was WWII style barracks. God I hated that place. it rained every damn day

Damn, I'm old. I was there the summer of 1988. As for the weather, main thing I remember was it would be cold as hell every morning at 0400 when we'd fall out for PT but by 1200 hours it would be hot as hell. Did they introduce you to Agony, Misery, & Heartbreak while there?

I think every reception has those barracks. And they don't have dividers on the shitters. You have to shite next to your new bff.

Yeah, that took some getting use to.
But we were only in those barracks while going through reception. Which for me took almost two weeks because they fricked up my orders and shipped me to Knox way early.
After reception we went to a place called Disney Barracks (nicknamed Disneyland of course).
We had 8 man bays for rooms. Latrine did have individual stalls but the shower was one big open room though.
