it is just that the Northshore has much more favorable demographics for where I want to live and raise my family.
I think most people would choose to live on the Northshore (Mandeville, Madisonville, etc.), but the jobs with high pay aren't as easy to come by. There's a reason Causeway traffic is so bad at 7:30 a.m.. It's because everyone works in NOLA. I don't want that commute. That area doesn't have enough jobs to support the entire population. Lafayette is different. There is a lot of growth right now. And although I do not find it as nice as the Northshore, there are certainly some acceptable areas.

its longer than 20 minutes to get to erath from laffy but between the saltwater fishing and the duck/goose hunting in the rice fields or marsh of Gueydan, pecan island and places around there you don't lose much from a hunting/fishing perspective. Just not as much deer/turkey

I want fish as well. I'm too cheap to buy fresh fish for myself and my SO is allergic, so I never get to have any when I go out to eat.

I'm assuming that's taking Hwy 90, correct?

Yes. Never any traffic
It would add another hour if I went through I-10

Why not Chalmette vs Slidell? Walker vs Denham Springs? Waveland vs Pass Christian?
