Half of the population of Atlanta is young and white. There are so many new towers going up, it's insane. Atlanta isn't NOLA. It's not really a chocolate city anymore.

Yep. Most people in Atlanta are transplants and don't really care about the Falcons. Out in the suburbs it can be a little different.

I would suggest Riverdale, East Point or maybe a small bungalow in Vine City.

If you don’t mind apartment living then East Lake Meadows is perfect for you

Anywhere near five points would be good for what you are looking for. MARTA gets a bad reputation but if you are using it for work, it is fine. Just don’t use it at night or weekends and Uber.

Office is just NE of Dunwoody

As everyone has pointed out, unless you have a really odd commute time, this may exclude most of the fun, younger areas of the city. I'd look within a short uber ride to the North Springs Marta Station.

Gives you the option to use Marta on concerts, games, buckhead, Peachtree race etc. In my experience, most people in ATL pick their living arrangement by morning commute rather than what's fun to do. You can always Uber into Buckhead and be thankful for all the time you've saved throughout the year not stuck in traffic.

If OP is going to live near Dunwoody I am guessing he will probably be looking at 1300 a month or so in rent.

I would say Brookhaven would be the best area for you. You could also look on 400 near Roswell/Alpharetta but not sure you could find something for $1000 a month.

Luckily I live in Canton which is off of 575 but luckily I work from home so I avoid the daily traffic. Have you looked at Sandy Springs?

If you dont want to be in town, move around perimeter mall, its pretty much young single womenz everywhere, but that would be a condo. Otherwise many places in town.

Problem is that Sandy Springs is trying to purge itself of affordable Roswell Road apartments (which are all junk) and bring in new apartments that are going to be 1500+ for a 1bd. It's good for Sandy Springs but not great for young people.
True. Last time I was in that area, I was amazed at all of the construction. They are putting in apartments at the corner of P'tree Dunwoody and Hammond. I can only imagine the price point there.

All new housing in Atlanta is "luxury". Not sure if Atlanta believes in affordable housing.

If I were commuting to dunwoody I'd probably be looking at Chamblee and Brookhaven, but it's probably going to be more than $1000.

Would like to pay less than 1k a month for an apartment.

Decatur or Acworth for that price I’m guessing. Lived in Vinings from 99-03 and paid about that much in rent on a one bedroom.
