If the dad and mom have career jobs, I’m not giving them anything.

Whether it’s 1 year or 10 year gap. Having more than one baby shower is the trashiest thing one could do. It’s happening more and more I’ve noticed. Society has no shame in begging for handouts.

My wife’s nephew was having their first baby.. they are big Alabama fans .. live their etc.. we bought a stuffed elephant.. and a 3 month old bama t shirt … we had geaux tigers embroidered on the elephant ( shirt.??? Somehow hidden.. I forget how we did it) and then put the big al ( bama) t shirt on the elephant to hide it…. to this day we have never heard if they discovered the geaux tigers and we have remained silent..

My cousin had multiple baby showers for the same baby. First one we got a gift, my wife went, she said it was a good time and by all accounts she racked up. I'm happy for them.
Then a week later an invitation came for a 2nd shower. I laughed and just ignored it. Not sure if that's a common thing now? Just seems a bit greedy.

A mini baby shower. I’ve never attended a sprinkle or have known anyone to have one, but have heard of them. And, yes. But when I had kids, it was a shower for 1st born.

And actually 2nd hand stuff is a great buy if you have a good consignment shop or in the loop of who’s selling used. Other than crib and car seat, Im all for picking up used. Have you seen stroller prices for “in” strollers?

We had Boy-boy-girl in a 4 year span
Wife did baby shower for the first. And then for the girl her close friends and family put her on another smaller baby shower because they wanted to gift girl stuff.

Lol, such a good point.
I almost feel the same way about people who get married multiple times. You had a wedding. The next one shouldn’t be a public affair again.

I think a small shower with close friends and family is reasonable, but not a huge event. I haven’t worked in an office in 5 years, but we used to have a shower if it was their first baby since working with us even if they had other kids. We had them for the guys, too.
