Am I the only one that finds it cringy the way parents today worship every little thing their kid does as if it's something amazing ?

When I was a kid you were just along for the ride.
You had to do something truly exceptional to receive praise, and that's a good thing.
And parents didn't hesitate to let you know when you were being a dumbass.

Do you consider earning your Eagle Scout a ‘little thing’? ETA: If so, I’d hate to be your kid.

Eagle Scout may be the only youth recognition that gets the attention of HR hiring managers. Congrats!

You realize that over 1 million kids participate in scouting each year. Of that number, only 1 or 2% make eagle.

Do they still get the all the congratulatory letters from current and past presidents, astronauts, and such?

Yes, but you have to ask for them.

It is an accomplishment. The boys have to be committed and work for it. Good for him.

The way you keep posting about this "subject" tells me at a young age someone in your life did things to you that you couldn't tell mommy about.

Was it one of your uncles? or maybe your best buds dad?

Big congratulations!! I made it to Life, but girls got me distracted. Great job keeping focused. It's a lot of work.

Our little TBoy is growing up. More responses like this and he may lose the “T” and just be Boy. Then, with God’s grace, he might become a Baw. Good luck, TBoy.
