I will say no more on that person unless police come out and confirm that identification
For real, I’ve never heard of this Keffels person or whatever until today, but dragging their name through this with no even second thoughts about whether it is true is wildly dangerous and dumb. Simply wait for local officials to make an id. It’s not that hard.

Is 25 years recently?
Within the context of how long guns have been part of American culture….I would say yes.
For someone only 25 years old, I can see how they would think this to not be “recent”.

I'm thinking there just as much of an effect from us coddling everyone and trying to legislate the idea that no one should ever have to face adversity of any kind, whether that be being teased, feeling marginalized, unappreciated, etc. That used to be part of growing up. Now it's not, so people haven't learned how to cope with life when things go bad. Then, they have the advent of social media coupled with the instantaneous 24 hour news cycle, which opens another can of worms. Just my uneducated theory. I did watch a new Netflix doc regarding social media and its effect on us as people, and it was very sobering. It shouldn't be a surprise that many of those in that industry don't let their kids use social media.
These are valid points. I have a 13 year old in school and kids today are constantly talked to about bullying. It has done nothing to stop it but it has forced the bullied kid to be confronted by the system instead of trying to stay hidden. Bullying has always taken place. Kids used to either cope or not, they could, however, escape it by staying under the radar. They can't do that in the school today....if an adult sees them being bullied it is brought to light, parents called in. The bullying continues but the main weapon of anonymity on the part of the bullied has been removed, making it much harder to cope with.
Kids should be left to deal with kids issues on their own without adults meddling. It has worked for years and yes, some kids were miserable and some were crippled by it but few if any were killed in mass shootings.
Yet another addition to the modest proposal...more guns, less media attention and ignore bullying. And for gods sake start keeping score at tee ball games.

My wife just texted me about this. Is it true the shooter was a former student?
I used to coach basketball against this school. Or rather against the high school that this school fed.

Well, now we know why Biden yucked it up with "good looking kids", as he called them from the podium, instead of addressing the shooting. Peep was not the right demographic and live kids are potential targets .. He doesn't give a damn about dead ones. Especially from Christian families.

Damn. First call to police came in at 10:13. Shooter was down at 10:27. Brave policemen doing what hero's do. Stark contract to that nonsense in Uvalde.
There's absolutely no excuse not to have cops ALREADY AT the school at all fricking times.
My kids' school (about 1200 students) has ONE deputy sitting in his car in the parking lot all the time and I'm about to find out why we don't have a few more there.

That person is not the shooter. Quit believing everything you read on the internet and wait for local officials to announce news. Don’t be a dummy.

This guy is supposedly at the house being searched by police.

Sounds like there were a couple of explosions heard. Rumors that an Audrey Hale, 28 lives there.

It's 100% a troll. Keffals is 29 (not 28) and police said the shooter was a former student and Keffals grew up in Canada, so she wouldn't have attended this school.
Troll or maybe heard shooter had similar name causing person to go with what mostly comes up with a web search of name instead of the actual shooter especially when that person coming up in those search results is also mentally ill.
Edit: When i searched name afterwards seeing post here besides far majority of results about the trans one website I never heard of (but bottom of first page of results) was using the name for shooter but labeling person as a right wing local activist. Trolls happen from all directions once rumors of names start popping up.

Does Europe have 24/7 news coverage and the internet?
JFC, make your point.
My point is that this is uniquely an American problem. People will give reasons like violent video games, music, social media, single-parent households, reduction of religion. However, these are all issues at the same level as America or worse in Europe, Japan, Australia etc. where school violence is not an issue. The question is how to do you solve a problem if you don't know what is causing it? Like I said earlier, I don't know if it can be fixed which is very disturbing.

violent video games
I've grown up with "violet video games" for at least 25 years of my life from a very early age and I can promise you've I've never had the urge to want to wipe out my elementary school.

The simple answer is money .... or lack of it.
My school has one full time SRO that is here for a "shift" during the day. However we also have a team of 14 CSSO's spread throughout our campus as well.

How about the fact that there are people who go through a lot of mental shite, but have never been in any form of trouble with the law, can acquire a gun in as little as 3 days and do whatever they want? THAT might be the problem.
I'm pretty sure the only things stopping someone from getting a gun in the US is their age and a felony. Otherwise you're able to buy as many as you want.
