As a guy, part of the appeal of watching women sports is that they are good looking women.
There's a simpsons episode where homer is trying to entice marge to bed and he says, "marge I'm ready I was was just watching women's beach volley ball on ESPN".

I get that sentiment bothers women athletes, but don't women look at male athletes the same way? I really don't think men are any more shallow than women in this dept. As far as I can tell male athletes, actors, musicians, anyone with money does ok with the ladies.
