800 series quieter with the 3rd rack and more "deluxe" interior.. a lot of people like that third rack ..wash performance neglible difference..very quiet vs virtually silent on 800 series

Had a Bosch in my house for 7 years. Most OVER RATED dishwasher I've EVER seen...I'll be going with something else soon.

My wife loves that extra top rack, and it is stupid quiet.

Top of the line WP units are nice and they are better than Bosch for people who don't pre rinse, they seem to handle food a lot better and have a nice sized mini garbage disposal blade on the pump.

fwiw...the new whirlpool gold dishwashers no longer have the disposal system in then that Napoleon is describing...the only way to get the noise level down to a 46 db was to go with the filtration system similar to the Bosch..I clean my filter on my Bosch every 2 months...minimal residual residue...

Shop Sears Outlet, if you have one near you. But, shop their website first, b/c the prices on there might differ significantly from the store.

I got a $700+ Kitchen Aid for under $400.

Whirlpool, Kenmore, Kitchen-Aid are all the same, save for some styling. Whirlpool owns Maytag, too.

Be very careful buying out of carton dishwashers...very good chance it is a customer returned, previously defective model that has been repaired..yes it will have full factory warranty..if only cosmetic damage, it is a simple panel switchout in customer home that does not normally get returned...most customers accept "damage" allowance to keep..

Bosch. Apparently actually drying the dishes is noisy so they've eliminated that.

Yeah - all dishwashers have turned down the heat a bit due to the amount of plastic that is commonly used today. But my BOSCH is hot as a mofo if you open it right before or right after it finishes.

..and if you start it right before going to bed, dishes are still warm in the morning.

all I wanted was quiet. the stuff we wash is pretty clean when we add it to the dishwasher, so the dishwasher doesn't have to do much...but I needed quiet since my kitchen opens to my family room. It was super quiet at first, but I have just started to notice some constant "swishing" sound as the arms spray water. Hate to think what it will cost to have a repair person come out.

I would bet that Napoleon would come over and check it out in return for a premium membership.
