Don't think they were sugarcoating anything. Why wouldn't Rouses have security officers at their new store like they do in most of their other stores? Are you arguing that they wouldn't?

I wish Florida Blvd would make a comeback. Most of it looks rough compared to when I was growing up.

The area by BRCC isn't too bad. And there have been a handful of new businesses opening up or expanding near the new Amazon thing by Cortana.

Why can't they turn the section with the service roads east of Airline into a freeway?

The Rouses and Roberts in Nola all have security guards as well as Costco and Wal Mart.

I thought that was pretty common these days

Of course they will.

I like the other that made mention to Dewster's mention of Tony's and HiNabor, was merely noting that both operated with a visible armed guard presence with eyes to the front door and parking lots.

My trips to Brookstown Hardware and Dixie Maid..not so.

They don't have security that I've seen at the Mandeville and Madisonville locations.

Tony's and HiNabor,

Those two do stores do well along with the Wal Mart Supercenter at Cortana.

Kind of wondering where the food desert is or how this Rouses will remedy that since it's minutes away from an Albertsons. It must be gerrymandered to hell because there are at least 3 solid supermarket options + a local seafood retailer in north Baton Rouge. And that's not counting the dozens of smaller c-stores.

That Costco in New Orleans has had major issues. They might need a whole platoon for security at that place.

That's just the costs of doing business these days in much of the country. It's yet another way that smaller, lower margin retailers are at a disadvantage in American cities with leftist DA's and judges.

The old Cortana Walmart has a huge bus stop in front, and picked up the load of the jettisoned Park Forest Albertsons on Greenwell.

I'm not afraid of going there. But, it too has full time sheriff detail, and also has the portable surveillance camera setups out in the parking lot.

Yeah, my wife cancelled our Costco membership years ago.

And I haven’t been in a Wal Mart except for one of those Neighborhood Wal Marts.

I only have time to go on Saturdays. And it's too busy and frustrating to visit on Saturdays.

So we no longer have a Sams or Costco membership now.
