Just make the jump and get what you really want.
Land. Cruiser.
Land. Cruiser.

Land cruisers are top of the top for sure. Not much better vehicle can be bought

SO worth it. You only live once. You can't take it with you.

Have you seen the new LC's? Very choice ride....if I was going to spend $80 G's on a vehicle, that would be it. Luckily' the 12-14's pre-enjoyed can be had for $30's-40's.

I liked your original post better
I didn't get to respond because the boy started to cry. Yes, you can't touch LC and that's why they are priced the way they are. However, you can find 100 series for 13-20k depending on mileage and I would take one of those over any new truck today.

30-40? That's a steal depending on mileage. And what you want to use it for. Which could literally be anything

Yeah, obviously you didn't check out the '16 Taco before you bought, too bad. It's much better than the GM twins. The new interiors of the GM's are still typical plasticky parts bin specials.
Maybe the entry level.
Sit in a Z-71 or better yet a Canyon with the leather option and tell me that.
FWIW I test drove a 15" Tacoma TRD Sport . Was no different than my 08'.
Well, actually it was different...they managed to make the interior even tackier than it had been.

PS: my guess on the drivetrain vibration would ne a motor mounts.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vette, my thoughts as well.
Changed the transmission mount per a TSB. No dice.
Swapped u-joints , carrier bearing, you name it.
I believe the problem could be induced by so many different issues that it was all over the board regarding fixes.
My numero uno guess was the carrier bearing is just not up to the job. With the torque on the two piece driveshaft it seemed very inadequate for the task at hand.
But then again it could have been the flux capacitor....who knows.

I know nothing about Toyota pickup trucks, is it reliable? Or better choose Ford F-150 or Chevy Colorado? This post was edited on 11/5 at 1:06 am
I have a 2015 Tacoma. It's my 4th Toyota Tacoma. The 2016 Tacoma is hands down the better vehicle than any that you listed above. Plus, resale value is waaaay better than those as well. It's no comparison.

I bough one new in 2003. It was my full time driver until March of this year, and I'll be passing it on to my 16-year-old next month. The truck has 190k and it is absolutely solid - the interior doesn't rattle and the truck still handles tight...best vehicle I've ever purchased.
Same here. I sold my 03' 4door/4WD in March with 187k miles for $9,900.
They hold their value big time.

Tacoma is better than anything Ford (Fix or Repair Daily) makes. Ford is the most overrated automaker in the country, well, on the globe actually.
Tacoma's are great vehicles.

Driveline vibration is almost certainly the piece of shite driveshaft carrier bearing. That's the only thing I've had trouble with on my Tacoma... and I've replaced it twice in 140k miles.

Fun thread...
I drive 60 miles per day round trip to work, drag my boat to the docks on weekends to fish, camp, and run around the wildlife refuges chasing birds. I live in flat LA not the mountains, or snowy weather up north.
I drove all 4 mid sized trucks 2016 models and bought the 1 I liked best. It was the most comfortable ride, best mileage, best technology, I could go on...
I don't worry about resale value, I have no brand loyalty, have not owned an American vehicle since the early 80's.
I bought a Canyon.

So what do all you Yota owners think about Nissans pending diesel?
Does/will Toyota ever offer one? And is it/ will it be a half ton or 3/4 ton? I heard they are working on it, but I don't think its available yet?

At some point, Nissan, as a brand, became a POS. I don't know what happened to make one of the premier automakers such shite but something did. My brother's Xterra had so many problems it was ridiculous. In the end, it threw a rod and all before 90k miles. I'd say it was anecdotal but my old roommate had similar issues with his and a girl I work with has a nightmare Maxima. As for any foreign diesel introduction, I'd be wary simply for what has happened with VW. There are lots of people who think the EPA got involved on behalf of domestic automakers and we'll probably never know but I would say it should be a concern...
FWIW, I had a 2002 Tundra with no problems that was sold at 250k miles with no problems besides the normal fluids. Currently, I have a 2007 Tundra TRD Crew Max with 135k with the same the "luck." Meanwhile, my dad had a 2003 Silverado that was decent but had a number of significant but not major issues until he sold it. He has since bought a 2012 F150 that has had a number of middle tier problems compounded by an air condition that never seems to be able to keep up with LA summer heat but is "within spec," according to Ford.
Take this info FWIW. The brand has done me right while I've seen many others regret their domestic decisions. Things may be different now but history says the domestic brands have a long, long way to go.

I had owned a 2012 Taco sport for about a year and a half. Its a cool reliable truck I bought for my son. I personally think its rides like crap but I bought it for reliability and its a good looking truck.I also own a Tundra so I guess Im spoiled by it. My tundra is far more superior than my chevy 2500 gas that I used to drive. Just my opinion

Not replying to you per say, but I love when people say
"I upgraded from a 2000 ____ to a 2015 _____ and can't tell you how much better this thing rides, feels, looks"
I mean, obviously

I love my Tacoma. It will last forever I feel.
The only flaw in the whole line is you cannot get a 6 ft bed with an extended cab.
You sacrifice truck bed space for people space, and cant have both.
Also they dont have any extended bed varieties either. 6 ft is the max length.
