Did you change the room in any way, recently? Paint, new bedding, new laundry detergent, new air freshener, shampoo or anything else with a smell?

Also, dogs can change their habits as they age.

Is there something new in the room or something that light is reflecting off of that wasn't there before?

From my experience every time my dog acts like this is due to her doing something she knows sh shouldnt have done. Whats odd is she is still acting strange still today. Might want to look around your bedroom and house

Good luck!

This would be my serious non OT joke answer.

We spoiled our dog as a puppy by letting him sleep in our bed and now despite our best efforts 3 years later, we can't get him to not sleep in bed with us. We've even gotten him his own beds (baby mattress and small futon) next to and at the foot of our bed. But he'll just wait til we're asleep and jump up on our bed in the middle of the night.

If he knows he did something wrong, like chewed something or used the restroom in the house then you would have to drag him across the floor to get him in the same room as it.

Maybe your dog realized that you are trashy for letting a dog sleep in your bed, and now she doesn't like you anymore.

Not when I come home, but only when I walk into my room while she is following me. She'll basically curl up almost in fear

I would say this is the answer, but when she does something wrong she just freezes. She is dead silent and will puppy eye us.

With this, she will howl and whine until we open the door for her to run out of the room. So I don't think it's something she did wrong.

She probably shite in the room somewhere and she's scared to go in there because she knows she fricked up?

It seriously might be this. Vomit, piss, shite, etc.

It might be a small amount and not visible, but she's embarrassed and worried she'll get in trouble.

Does she stay inside when you are gone? Something may have happened outside that scared her.

Something in that room is scaring the shite out of her probably.

Do you leave the door open to your room during the day when you are gone? If so, setup a camera in there to record all day and see if she goes in by herself at all. If she does she did something in there like others have stated. If not, something has either happened to her in there or something in there is new and freaking her out.

Edit: or ghosts/demons

Ok so I've seen this before in dogs. Does she avoid the bed completely or just when you are going to sleep?

It maybe a poltergeist or a leprechaun.
Either way, you're gonna die.

No, door stays shut and she has no access to it.
